Spore Notes
Spore Notes

Spore! a delightfully addictive game, the gameplay has some astoundingly good parts to it, even if, technically speaking, EA couldn't pour butt butter out of a boot with the instructions on the heel..

Quote:Cell - Red
Power Monger: Passive +MaxEnergy
Creature - Red
Prime Specimen: Passive +MaxHP
Tribal - Blue
Colony Craze: Passive Discount on Colonization gear
Civ - Blue
Spice Savant: Passive +Spice Production
It's a little min-maxey, but this is the proposed 'build' for the Galactic Financial Empire I'll be setting up on my home machine..  The Balloon Birds of Planet Goat Poop game, on my laptop, is well on its way to becoming an economic powerhouse, I think this build will rake in the moneys even faster.
We'll see!

Spore: too much DRM for me to bother with.
E: "Did they... did they just endorse the combination of the JSDF and US Army by showing them as two lesbian lolicons moving in together and holding hands and talking about how 'intimate' they were?"
B: "Have you forgotten so soon? They're phasing out Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

How does TeaTimer (I presume as part of Spybot?) defeat the DRM?

During the installation procedure, TeaTime (yep, the Spybot component) asks if I want to let a 'new startup registry entry' be made.. so.. nope!

Not that doing so does much, as it still installs the UA7Service and the hidden malformed files, etc etc. It just doesn't start up at launch.

Yeah, that was kind of my response. SecurRom is really popular with PC game makers. Yeah, the restrictions EA put on Spore is a pain, but really, it's not
like it's any different DRM software than Bethesda had on Oblivion, they just used the online activation module instead of the cd verification module.
It's still SecurROM.

My problem with Spore as a game is that I always get bored in the space stage. I'm at the point where I basically have to build up my resources/ship to get
to the center of the galaxy, and its really dull. I'd have preferred a bit more relaxes space stage where I could just explore, have fun, and sandbox.

I'm completist enough that I've put in quite a lot of time in the earlier phases. For me, Space Stage is tricky. I have to get a good start, or I lose
interest.

For me, the key to Space stage is either being lucky enough to have peaceful neighbors, or being able to bribe them to war with each other.
