		I hope that this tech makes it to human implants soon. Being able to directly mount onto a load bearing structure (bone) is a large step forward for prothesis. No more bulky strap systems and pressure sores.

		The problem is the rejection issue. The immune response is much stronger in humans, and thus much harder to overcome.

		They've been doing Itaps on humans for a bit.  The rejection is virtually a non-issue as well since all you're doing is fooling the skin into thinking it's growing over something like a fingernail.
	 
	
	
	
		The problem with Itaps on humans, IIRC, is the wear and tear, especially due to overuse.
