Anime "licence rescue" done right
Anime "licence rescue" done right
#1
I picked up the singles of the first season of this series when they first came out, and I pre-ordered the second season, so I know what extras came in the first release of Super GALS! The http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827 ... 8726/4/0/0]licence-rescue re-release has all of the extras - that's something that's extremely rare in an anime re-release, and even rarer in an anime re-release by a different company.

And buying the anime this way is a lot less expensive than the way I did it.

(On the flip side, there's still no dub for the second season. They didn't add anything, but they didn't take anything away.)

So now there's no excuse for not at least trying out some atypical shojo anime...

They did in Japan, and the re-mastering is beautiful. (I've seen some of the Japanese re-issue of Sailor Moon S, owned by an online friend.) Here's hoping that version gets picked up.

iirc, FUNi has been looking into trying to get it for the last year, but the Japanese company hasn't been helpful...
and when Right Stuf! (and FUNi most of the time) grab another series, they get the rights to whats already been done as long as its good... and if its bad, they change it (see One Piece fiasco)
There is no coincidence, only necessity....

Oh, bog... Not the FUNi "let's put ten minutes of unskippable, wildly-inappropriate ads on every disk before the sheep are allowed to get to the main menu" treatment, please.

Right Stuf does, FUNi doesn't. (For example, look at all the white space in the "extras" listing on their release of UFO Princess Valkyrie.) I have yet to see any FUNi rerelease that has the extras the original release of the same anime had - they've all been "stripbox" releases.
