Thor
Thor
#1
Just saw it. It's good at doing it's job, introducing Thor to the Marvel Movieverse. I wonder how much of their Asgard resembles the UF version for it certainly shares the somewhere in deep space thing.

Oh and as usual for Marvel's cross-movie thing, stay seated till the projector stops. Now is that [redacted] familiar or what.

ahh, to many Puns.

but yay, got my ticket, going to see it after class today.

just one, tinsy, itsy, bitsy problem.

I can only see it in 3D, so due to my eye sight, I expect a lot of the "oh shiny" to be ruined by "glah, how do you wear them over normal glasses? o.O"

Well, the only time I've seen a movie in 3D, I'd no trouble with wearing the 3D glasses over the top of my prescriptions. Aside from the drop in picture contrast that you get from sunglasses at night.......

I read an interview with the actor which indicated that he bulked up so much for the role that, when filming finally started, his costume was cutting off circulation throughout his upper body. He actually had to tone down his muscles in order to comfortably wear the thing.

watch out, Base, he's plumb Loki. I don't know what the Hela he's thinking, but he can't be coming around here with that sort of Balder agression, you Norn what I mean?

To be fair, I will admit that all the puns might Frey the nerves a bit... but I'm just guessing here - Idun know for sure.

ok, just got back from seeing it myself. It was fun and worth the time, even if it felt a little short.

I liked the portrayal of Loki and Balder.

The two things that confused me:

who was the guy with the crossbow on the crane-lift? I missed the one time they said his name.

post-credit extra: was I supposed to recognize the cube from somewhere?

Okay, the guy on the crane was Clint Barton, a.k.a Hawkeye.

The cube was the Cosmic Cube, a major Marvel MacGuffin, which tended to get in the hands of the Red Skull with depressing regularity.

Balder wasn't in the film. Heimdall was (and Idris Elba rocked that very nicely, thank you), but no Balder.
Personally, I would have liked to see more of the Warriors Three, but I love those guys as Thor's sidekicks. Also, I will admit to a bit of a fanboyish squee when Hawkeye showed up.
