I've always liked that song, i just have no idea what the music video was supposed to say. Did they get an art major to direct it?

But back to the original topic...

Regarding the earth shattering kaboom. I thought it was only the rapture (aka: all the 'chosen ones' getting pulled up to heaven, while the rest of us are left to deal with Armageddon). So I guess there should be an earth shattering kaboom soon, for vague definitions of 'soon'.

Personally I think this will be rationalized away just like they did in 1992, 93, and 94 (all years people predicted the rapture will occur).

Oh no. Not again

Maybe... we're supposed to rapture ourselves. God helps those who help themselves right?

I'm just saying, Mars is gonna complain about us blocking their view of Venus again...

Well, I say the Sailor Senshi can work out their own problems without involving us. Especially considering they have their own Bunny.

No, that Mars tends to be looking at the Moon. She'd deny it, of course. No one believes her Smile

I tell people on IRC that Shadowrun's version of things is much more interesting, and therefore we're not due any exciting events until December. '.'

On the slightly more serious side, CBS Radio News reports that Camping is in hiding and his followers are, and I quote, "in a state of disbelief".

Just spotted this over in the EPU forums, about Camping:
Quote:Last night, as I was falling asleep, I figured out what this guy really is.

He's a Bible fanfic writer, of the "we only gave him a one-star rating because we can't rate him negative" sort. He's writing a self-insertion fanfic with him as a Mary Sue, the guy who can figure out something that Jesus himself said could not be known by anybody other than God.

In the next chapter, he'd pick up one of Archangel Michael's axes and go beat up Lucifer, because he's just that badass.

Meh. Camping and his followers will just double-down on the crazy. Mocking them serves no purpose. The cognitive disonnance of being in a faith with disproven prophecies is well understood and almost never results in people leaving the faith.

There's a purpose other than "amuse the mockers"? Because I'm pretty sure that purpose is still getting served. '.'

Oh, of course they will. They always do, because to do otherwise is admit they have no Inside Information that makes them superior to the rest of humanity.
Quote:Mocking them serves no purpose.
As Morgan points out, mocking them serves the purpose of amusing ourselves, and making us feel superior to those who feel superior to the rest of humanity.

Heard on the radio today:

"Harold Camping's prediction that the Rapture would take place last weekend failed to come true. There, there - it's not the end of the world."

So he's a Civil Engineer?

I'd hate to drive on any bridges he's built so.
