Seeking Prayers and Well-wishes
10-04-2011, 08:08 AM
My mother just got a call from a hospital in Florida for a kidney transplant. [Massive shock, she'd thought she'd dropped off their list as we're ... not in Florida.]
Spent the last half hour or so freaking out getting stuff packed for my folks so my brother can take them down. The flight leaves at 7 am and he'll be here in minutes to take them to the airport. (He had the best "saved vacation days" total of the three of us siblings.)
Here's hoping things go well.

I hope the operation goes well. Best of luck to your mother.

May whichever deity or deities you believe in watch over your mother.

...installation?
Ask 'em for a new power supply and a memory upgrade while they've got the case open!
Null Sheen, furry chummer - this is a routine operation done by one of the best in the business, if I remember my medical reviews correctly. I am confident and looking forward to your mom coming home and feeling wonderful!

I suppose by now it's more likely in the post-op recovery stage, but any blessing of good fortune I can give, be with you and yours in this time.

Due to a slight clerical error she didn't go under the knife until about 9 pm and is still on the table as I type this.
Fortunately, the circumstances of the donor allowed for such. *fingers and toes crossed* She's due out at approximately 12:30 am and, presuming all goes well, will be staying down there for about a month until she's cleared to come home.
Now I just gotta work out how I'm gonna get down there for some help for em...

And the Hits just keep coming.
Today, my dad fell and hit his head while on his way to see my mother.
Fortunately, he was in a hospital at the time.
Unfortunately he hit his head HARD and lost a few days, at least temporarily *knocks on wood*.
Fortunately, they found an aneurysm before it ruptured and killed him.
Unfortunately, I now have to try to scrape together about $3k to get down there and cover food, lodging, transit, missed work, etc.
*sigh*

ROAD TRIP.
I'm hitting I-95 in a couple hours to get to Jacksonville.
300 some in gas and tolls is TONS better than 3k in rentals, etc.
So. Yeah.
