And another:
StarCrawlers: Lead a crew of freelance adventurers & navigate corporate intrigue on the fringes of space in a classic sci-fi dungeon crawl. In StarCrawlers, you’ll lead a crew of Crawlers, each with their own unique skills and abilities. Together you’ll take on jobs to explore abandoned spacecraft, battle mighty enemies, and unravel corporate intrigue. Some key features of StarCrawlers:
- Classic first person dungeon crawling in a detailed sci-fi universe
- Narrative AI procedurally generates missions and dungeons with randomized encounters, traps, and enemies
- Strategic RPG style combat featuring a time unit action system
Reminds me of games I used to play back in the 90's like 'dark heart of uukrul' etc. with awesome graphics. It's also nice to see a DnA setting as opposed to a DnD one!

Not hosted on Kickstarter - instead, it's on KissKissBankBank.
SeaOrbiter
(Discovered via The Register ... which offers a much more entertaining story.)

Okay, so this one's just a personal want:
I know the author slightly (read: used to exchange jokes on Usenet), and I wanna see this one make its stretch goals (I've already helped get it over the initial goal). I've read the publicly available chapters, and I think it's a pretty good "grown-up" Oz, without becoming grim&gritty.

I was going to post this if someone else hadn't already done so. Now, normally I'd roll my eyes at a Kickstarter project seeking a million dollars. But I rather suspect this one can make it. But you don't have to take my word for it, take a look and see how it has already passed 1700 backers and $86,000 in only about three hours.

I see what you did there.
Now at $140K, less than an hour later. I'd say it'll make it, easy.
EDIT: It just hit $180K, TEN MINUTES AFTER THAT.

$314,786 at the moment I looked, a bit more than an hour later -- but the number is bouncing up and down for some reason.

I suspect the KS system is having a hard time keeping up with the number of people/dollars being pledged.
I left the page up for a bit, and it stabilized at $322K for a bit. Two minutes later, it's now bouncing between $322K and $331K.
EDIT: Just tested my hypothesis with the comment system. Made a comment, then refreshed the page- it was gone. Waited a bit, and the "2 new comments" button popped up. When I clicked it, my comment (and the one before it) popped back up. I'm fairly sure KS.com has some sort of bug where it's both trying to update the page every X minutes and give you real-time updates, but this pledge is going so fast that it can't decide which one to give you.
EDIT 2: Three hours (or so) later, and we just hit $750K, with no signs of stopping soon. This thing's getting supra-ultra-funded.

How many KS projects hit their funding goal on the first half-day? How many of those are in the seven-digit range? This might be a record-setter as well as being a worthy project.
EDIT: I just mentioned this one over on the SJGames forums' KS thread. Let's push that number through the roof even faster...

I don't know when it started, but it's funded now. Was funded an hour and a half ago- now it's at $1,167,000ish. What's that, ONE MILLION DOLLARS in ten hours?
They said that they've got stretch goals planned. Let's see what happens.

Made it. $1,197,690 as of 9:44 PM EDT, and still going strong.
EDIT: And went so strong it got a CNN story on its second day.
The contribution rate has slowed down a bit, btw -- only $1,925,613 right now (2:50 PM EDT, 5/29). But it hasn't stopped.

Reading Rainbow? Like This Rainbow?
.... Google informs me not. Shame. That's a fat lump of cash to come in so fast. Not even a Firefly Season 2 would fund that fast.
Anyway, This is still going, long after the Kickstarter has finished. Though now only two days left to upgrade to the Ultimate edition. Having had a car repair come up cheap, it seemed like a good idea.

I don't know if any of you have heard of Ponyfinder, a MLP inspired Pathfinder third party splatbook/expansion/whatever those things are called. Well, they've almost finished the Kickstarter for their Griffon-centric expansion, and are doing quite well. But that isn't the big news. This is:
Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon are now part of the project! Here's the text from the announcement:
Quote:Sudden news, loyal of the Sun Crown!
The skies have parted with opportunity. The king of all gryphons, Larry Dixon, has gazed upon the project and has smiled. He will be joining the team as an art supervisor and contributing aspects to the design of our Griffons! Joining him is Mercedes Lackey who will be working with him in writing an introduction to the book, as well as providing her vast knowledge on the subject to us as well!
Together both Larry Dixon and Mercedes Lackey have spent the last 3 decades popularizing Griffon and Avian stories through their books, art, and personnel projects. From acting as the Great Eagles advisor for Peter Jackson in the Lord of the Rings films to rehabilitating countless hawks, owls, falcons and corbies back into the wild, these two luminaries of aviary have united and propelled the Gryphons of fantasy into a whole new level.
...
But the good news does not end there. If we can break the atmosphere with $20k, they will put their considerable novel writing powers together to make a story for us that will become another module(separate of the $18k/500 backer target) with a Gryphon focus!
So, if you are at all interested in a Griffon-centric adventure module written by Mercedes Lackey, in addition to the other things they are bringing to the project, this is the place to go. (As of this posting, they need to raise about $2,900 in the next thirteen hours to hit the goal for that module.)

No, there's two 3-5 modules possible (I'm not sure how the BackerKit extra time would tie into reaching the 500 backers goal, so it might still be possible). The module written by Ms. Lackey just needed them to hit at least 20K, which they did.
