Unless you're doing automotive repair.  That shit gets fuck-off expensive when you factor in labor.  Also, whenever they can they're getting the parts from the dealership, so those will be expensive as fuck, too.
To put it into perspective, the first clutch job I ever did, I did it for about one-quarter than what I was quoted for by a transmission specialty shop .  (They wanted about $2800, parts and labor.  I did it for about $650, parts, machine shop fees (had to get the fly wheel refinished), and new tools.)

An oil change (at regular prices) can run between $45 to $90, depending on what type of oil and filter you're getting.  I can do my own for about $25, and that's with the premium oil and filter.
And don't get me started on brake jobs.

About the only thing I take my truck to the shop for is tires or welding.

So DIY always being more expensive?  Yeah, depends on what you're doing.

(Also, a lot of the fixes I do for things that are DIY - the fixes that I deem to be 'satisfactory'?  They tend to last a hell of a lot longer that the stuff I 'buy from the store'.)

Looked at metaphorically, http://www.dorktower.com/2016/08/25/ins ... -25-08-16/ makes perfect sense. (This might be because my success rate matches Carson's and Matt's for the same methods.)

Not a picture, but on the strange english theme, if hang rhymes (roughly) with chang (as in the name) why doesn't hanged rhyme with changed?

Due to the change in the phonology from adding the 'ed'. You go from [?] ('sang') to [d?] (giant). English (Language) is weird.---

Well, that kid's probably going to grow up as an excellent person, and that last picture is surprisingly menacing.

The artist's name is apparently Kandanchi.  I haven't checked the site listed on some of the pictures; the site I found these on is often NSFW.  Warning:  the moe is weapons-grade.Look who wears her mom's old hair-ribbon style.
