Wow. And I just realized I never looked at the credits on it, which would have at least partially clued me in. Did Watterson actually come out of his hermitage to work on it, or is it a well-done tribute on Breathed's part?

I think Watterson came out of hermitage to do it. He's done it before with another strip, actually, but I don't remember right off the top of my head which one.

It was three comics strips for 'Pearls Before Swine' (June 4-6 2014).

There were also apparently Bloom County/Calvin and Hobbes strips on April Fools Day of 2016 (http://www.sparklyprettybriiiight.com/th...nd-hobbes/) and 2017, as well as November 27, 2017 according to Watterson's wiki page.
