Department of Commerce follows the law, says "no" to the White House

The Register: Trump: Huawei ban will be lifted!
US Commerce Dept.: Yeah, about that…

Staff have reportedly been sent an email reminding them that, under DOC rules, Huawei is still on its prohibited Entity List and chipmakers will still face the "presumption of denial" from agents when looking to sell to them.

Looks like somebody didn't pay enough attention to the regulation he used in order to impose that tech-export ban.

Ah, well. Good to see at least one department still believes in the rule of law.
