Crossovers that Should Be: The Write Stuff

Previous thread is previous
Fakir (from Princess Tutu) vs. Haruhi Suzumiya.
Haruhi doesn't realize that she's a reality warper, but her warps can happen without preparation or conscious thought.
Fakir knows he's a reality warper and has practice going up against a rival reality warper, but he has to write out, in the form of a story, by hand, the changes that he wants to make.
Whose reality will be dominant?

Well, Haruhi just wants the world to be interesting, so as long as Fakir is spinning a good yarn she's probably going to go along with it. Though I always did wonder if the various characters who appear as animals (Aside form MC) are actually noted as "is an anteater" in the text, or if they appear that way because they don't have sufficient description. I mean, I have fun imagining incidental characters that only get a job title as the identifier tag on their one or two lines as being various bipedal-adapted animals sometimes. Conservation of detail does leave things open that way sometimes, and a bear with a piece of chalk and a pair of pince-nez wrapping up a lecture at the front of the classroom to dismiss everyone when the chimes ring and the focus character(s) leave just adds an appealing level of background surreal humour when something is being taken too seriously.

copied from the General/General Images thread:

I guess in this AU after deciding that he couldn't fuck things up any worse than the rest of the contenders and entering "the game," Tyrion decided a prayer was in order. "Dio can you hear me? I am lost and so alone. I'm askin' for your guidance. Won't you help me claim the throne? I need a tight compadre who can teach this world to rock. Jaime is an asshole, and the rest are total cocks!"
And just as I finished writing that, the Dio and Yngwie Malmsteen version of Dream On started playing. I'm not sure if that's a good omen or not, I mean on one hand there's the actual lyrics, and then on the other it's thematically appropriate both in terms of what it actually takes to pull off such a feat and in Tyrion's own personality at least as he's commonly portrayed, and then too because when those two get together to play your song, it is no longer your song.
Really, a Brutal Legend crossover would be awesome, and all the justification this picture needs. Or possibly the picture is all the justification such a fic would need. I'm no really familiar enough with the details of either to do it myself, alas, having only read a few fanfics...
edit: Take special note of Tyrion's own guitar in that picture - not only does the neck extend from the middle finger, the body of it is a hand that has, as the expression goes, grabbed the brass ring.

It should not be, and yet it already is. From the crazed minds of G.D. Falksen and Mark Wheatley (perhaps that should be "Whateley"?) comes this tale...
Quote:Only one man in the universe is mad enough to talk back to the Elder Gods. That man is Doctor Cthulittle, aided only by his pilot, Zenobia Bishop, and the ghoul, Farnsworth. Together they travel the space between all time and dimensions in the remarkable Transdimensional Bathysphere. Their uncanny expeditions have remained hidden and secret, until now! Join them on a guided tour into madness!

Yes, I should've, and I don't really know why I didn't. Mea omnia culpa. Thank you for doing it for me. I shall now atone for my failure by suicidally binging on chocolate. This will take a while....

And now I'm wondering who would be cast as who. Akane as Philia seems a little obvious, but no other mapping is for me. Nabiki as Pseudolus? (I think we have a precedent for a gender-flipped Pseudoilus -- didn't Whoopi Goldberg play the role on Broadway once?) But she'd never deign to be in a play -- too much work, I suspect.

Pffft! Forget Loki! Can you imagine what Belldandy would do to fucking Apollo for the shit he pulls in trying to get Bell (adventurer, not Goddess)?
Or even better yet, actually have Apollo try to get Belldandy for himself.... And the Ultimate Force System decides that Apollo has earned himself Special Friend status. And wouldn't that be just plain glorious to see?
And that's not even getting into that one SPECIAL moment where Belldandy gets THAT LOOK. You know the one - the one you only ever see her with two, maybe three times in the whole manga. The one that says that she is officially sick of your shit and she's taking the kid gloves off. Yeah. That look.
It's one thing with the Demons. They're wired that way. But the other Gods? They're consciously making the choice to be a vile sack of shit, not caring about who might get hurt in the pursuit of their selfish desires.
(Fun mental imagery of Belldandy going to her brother, Thor, and asking if she can borrow Mjölnir for a moment. And when he asks why, she smiles a sunny smile that scares the shit out of Thor and she says, "Oh, I just need to hammer down some nails that are sticking up.")
And don't tell me it would just be Belldandy there. Can you imagine Skuld and Urd with their own Familia? Skuld would have this semi-friendly rivalry going on with Hephaestus. And Soma and Urd... I have no idea if Soma will like that Urd appreciates his devine wine, or despises her because she's constantly cleaning him out of his stock.
I'm aslo pretty sure that Hestia will love spending time with Belldandy. She's kind, caring, has no ulterior motives, and is happily wedded to Keiichi already, so Bell is safe from her. In fact, more than just safe - Belldandy would have Hestia's back, no questions asked.

She'd eviscerate him. If not necessarily literally, although that's definitely an option.
Little gets Belldandy going like actually threatening her relationship with Keiichi. Cause trouble? She'll just gracefully accept the challenge and deal with it.

You mean the one where Belldandy's already stopped being the kind, slightly odd girlfriend of Keiichi and became the able matron of the temple, and you idiotically decided to double down?

Thor wouldn't give her Mjölnir. He'd sneak down himself with her to personally see whoever pissed off Belldandy to the point that 'drop a mountain range on the target' is a viable resolution to her problem. And then drop the hammer on the target, or very deliberately hand the hammer off to her in full view of the target. The only question is then who does the hammering.

In the tradition of AMG, neither Skuld nor Urd are supposed to be there. However, because they are not running Familias of their own and the entire group is kinda causing a lot of trouble for the more objectionable gods without crossing the line themselves simply by Belldandy being Belldandy and divinely capable of using the rules of social conduct to force good behaviour, there's nothing that can really be done beyond occasionally forcing them to return to Heaven to do their jobs.

Belldandy has one, single ulterior motive. To enjoy life with Keiichi and her family. She'd have a hard time not helping Hestia deal with the injustices of the setting though, and Belldandy would likely very quickly end up at the core of a loose organization of like minded gods who don't like what some gods and goddesses are doing with their families.

Reincarnated into what appears to be more or less contemporary Japan, as a somewhat unfortunately feminine-looking boy. Naturally I have a nice, healthy habit of computer games and a Gundam VRMMO seems perfectly safe. How was I to know Akihito Kayaba was the lead designer. (Okay, I could have looked that up. Don’t judge me!) So within the first couple of hours every single player is brought together by Kayaba himself (wearing Gihren Zabi’s uniform) and told they can’t log out, that dying in the game means dying in real life… and the only way for us to log out is for us to win a Zeon victory. In a universe that includes not only the Earth Federation but also every other major faction in just about every Gundam sub-franchise.
Oh, and we’re starting off at the Battle of A Baoa Quo and the Federation has a minor little 200% buff to their numbers – which are already scaled against our numbers because we are the entire Zeon force. Let’s just remember that more than 90% of the players had barely even completed the tutorial… assuming they even bothered with it.
Half the player base died that day. And the rest are scattered, embittered and terrified. And if I’m going to survive this – to win this clusterfuck of a game (because that’s basically the one slim hope we have) – then I have no better option than to work with the most insufferable asshole in the game and his yandere girlfriend in the hope of uniting a computer simulation of humanity under the leadership of Char Aznable. Yeah. An escort mission. Truly, my luck is the worst.

Going a bit further in the AMG/Danmachi crossover...
Ishtar would be fucking toast.
Belldandy wouldn't mind one bit if Ishtar did declare war against Freya. She knows Freya can take care of herself. But what Ishtar is doing to assure herself a victory? Let alone why?
It would be freaking hilarious, you know, because Belldandy would quickly establish this reputation... it wouldn't even be "That one person you don't mess with". That would go without saying. Really, it'd be more like, "Don't do ANYTHING that will piss her off".
Even Freya would take great care if Belldandy was around. Not that she wasn't being overt in the first place, but still...
Come to think of it, though... Isn't there a whole bunch of limitations on what the Gods can and can't do in the Danmachi world? And the sort of familia Bell would have wouldn't be very combat oriented at all.... Not unless Keiichi and Company REALLY got into swords and sorcery stuff...

The thing with Belldandy is that she's very Yamato Nadeshiko and a highly skilled social manipulator. Freya and Ishtar are also very capable, but they tend to be much more blunt and brute force about it, and not mess with other gods that much.
Belldandy? She'd have much of the council of the gods eating out of her hand very quickly, and that would be her powerbase in Orario. She's the goddess everybody likes, regardless of whether or not they oppose her, and her approval and disapproval will matter regardless of every other result.
