"The future is now" - Linus, Dec 2019
real time 3d holographic display heading from development toward mass production - and not the dinky one he's holding in the cover image, that's just the developer kit.

non-embedded

I know I definitely want one. I want Godot Engine to support it too, not just Unity and Unreal, but probably the only way for that to happen in the near term would be if someone gave them one and Patreon-sponsored a dev to work with it. I dunno, Open Source and PC gaming enthusiasts both be pretty crazy about what they'll do just to say they could, so I guess it's not out of the realm of plausibility.

Yow. That's amazing. I suspect it's going to be ten years or more until the user base and/or demand kick in the economies of scale, but as long as this doesn't disappear down the hole of "cool but unused" we've got a hell of a new display technology to look forward to.

A generation of kids in Ireland grew up with this.

And now it's back on youtube

I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.

One day they're going to ban them.
