The trouble with using phones to handle orders these days is that the restaurants wind up getting absolutely SWAMPED with inbound calls.  So much, in fact, that we can have every manager, in-store worker, and delivery driver manning a phone, taking orders, and handling the "WHERE'S MAH FOOD!?" complaints ("Sorry, Karen, but we're too busy talking to ass clowns like you to have a chance to make your food."), and the phones will still be ringing off the goddamned hook.  For fuck's sake - we're supposed to be a delivery restaurant, not a call center!  (In fact, a lot of places have actually contracted call centers to handle their inbound phone orders.)

So yeah.  Sorry about the impersonal touch in the customer service, Maxine... but it's either that, or we just be a call center pretending to be a restaurant.  Which would you rather have?

Just felt I should get that out there because there actually are people that unironically complain about this sort of thing.
