Soliciting Dren's Help Once Again!
Soliciting Dren's Help Once Again!
#1
So, I've just started playing a Claws/Willpower Stalker (because I've never done one before, ever - something I'm planning on rectifying with all the ATs I've never played before).

Anyway, I'm taking my time with him, playing the low level content for the first time in many years rather than hopping on the first PI radio team I hear about and getting PL'ed into the 20s.  And I'm liking what I'm playing.  So I'd like to plan ahead for him.

Dren, if you have the time, could you please come up with a build I can use to guide this guy to level 50 with?  Thanks.

Welp, gonna have to think a bit on this one, i've only dabbled with claws on stalkers.  But i think i can get you something to help.

Give Terr a thank you btw. I had yet to check the forums this week and he pointed it out to me..

So here is a short plan for 1 to 44.  No slotting or sets, just powers.  Actual Build comes later when you figure out what power pools you want (outside of travel power/fighting).  Fly was chosen as the placeholder for your tavel power of choice

This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.4.7

Oh, yeah, since I posted the initial request, I've taken Leaping for his travel pool with only Super Jump selected (and not that it makes any difference but he's Natural origin).

And yes, I'll thank Terr next time I see him.

EDIT: Next time I'm playing I'll do a screenshot and throw it in here, just for fun. He's called "The Obvious Threat", and because of the "sword blade" skin for the claws I basically made him look like Ezio from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Your certainly welcome, its easy enough to pass a message along since i keep in contact with Dren on Discord. In other news I'll have to get other peoples discord names at some point if folks are using it if only it being the easiest way to keep in contact.

So although Dren and Terr have actually seen him "in person" as of earlier tonight, as well as Zilem Kain, here's the promised picture:

And Obvious Threat just hit 49 last night, so I guess it's time to talk final build.

I ended up taking everything in Claws, and everything but Strength of Will in Willpower. I'd like to keep that arrangement.

I took Jumping, as I noted above, but I found that I ended up using a jetpack to get around as much or more than superjump, so when I respec I will switch to Flight as you originally laid out. My other pool powers also followed your guidelines as well.

When it comes to picking enhancement sets, I need to prioritize Endurance expenditure again -- he runs out way too fast. A secondary priority would be Damage; outside of assassin's strikes it feels like he doesn't do enough.

Once again, thanks so much for your effort on my behalf. I've tried to do this kind of thing myself, but I get into MIDS and my eyes glaze over.

I can get to work on this over the weekend. That feeling that you lack damage is actually the usual when you play claws. Your attack recharge faster and i think cost less endurance than most other sets but your base damage is less.

OK.  Here is a base concept that i rolled out.  I gave myself 3 goals when i made it.  Good HP/Regen, 30% Defense across the board, and Over 3 end a sec.  It worked.  I mangaged a 1776 hp and 32hp/s total on a stalker.  3.49 end/s, and the low defense is PSI with 31.22%.  Now i did use a number of slots on procs, that kinda came after i finished the primary build.  Lemme know what you think Bob

Looks really nice, Dren. Thank you so much. As soon as I get back online and finally make level 50, I'll get right to work on respeccing and buying up to this.

Okay, respecced him last night and starting buying. I had a lot of merits banked up so I was able to get all of the archetype enhancements in one go, without spending a dime except on Enhancement Catalysts. He's nowhere near done, but I've got a good solid start.

Thanks again.

All right, I just have one power left to enhance per the master plan; everything else I did over the course of 4 nights with merits, banked cash and some more cash earned on a couple TFs between buying sprees. In the course of this I've unlocked his Alpha and I'm at 86% on Judgment and Interface, although I haven't made anything to slot yet. I have noted, amusingly, that he's already almost invulnerable -- it's rare he takes a hit and it hardly does anything to him when he does. And he's doing much better on Endurance, especially if I pace myself -- instead of having to fall back and rest after three kills in rapid succession, he can actually wade into a fight and keep going for a while. He still runs out faster than Eva does, but it's so much better than before. Thanks again, Dren!
