Onyx Path Publishing, under license from White Wolf Entertainment AB, are pleased and proud to present Lore of the Traditions for the 20th Anniversary Edition of Mage: The Ascension.
Someone, possibly Kickstarter Concierge James Bell, Wrote:It all seemed so simple once: Magic good, technology bad. As both fictional mages and players of Mage realize, however, nothing is quite that simple. Magic, as Mage continually asserts, is technology. Whether that technology involves concoctions, crossbows, or computer networks is a matter of semantics. The line between a wizard in his tower and a hacker in her basement gets pretty damned fuzzy, after all, once you realize they’re doing the same thing with different tools and rhetoric. As our not-so-new-millennium speeds toward its fourth decade, those simple old delusions point toward a troubling new question: Now what?
In an age of transformation, what does “tradition” even mean? That question, for mages of the Council of Nine Mystick Traditions, isn’t merely academic. The 21st century (with or without an Avatar Storm) poses dilemmas that medieval wizards could never have imagined: issues of power, ethics, technology, even reality itself. Where “tradition” once sounded comforting and stable, that term begs vital questions now: Which features of “the Old Ways” must change when confronted by the new, and which elements were worth preserving to begin with?
Lore of the Traditions doesn’t simply rehash material from older books. Instead, it explores where Mage’s nine Traditions began and where they’re headed now.
Ultimately, the magick is yours. Let’s see where it leads us.

Three days left in the Hex-n-Screen: Undying Sands + Bottled Sea RPG Kickstarter.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/and...ottled-sea
"This campaign is for two RPG settings in the Hex-n-Screen format. These are gameable universes compacted into cardboard hexes, a Game Master screen, poster hand-out and cloth bag. The concept behind the format is to design complex and flavorful RPG settings without them being presented as books. In this campaign, we bring to life a new print-run of ENNIE-nominated (Best Setting, Best Cartography) Undying Sands and an entirely new spin-off, the Bottled Sea."

Yay for finding yourself in a pickle. I'm none too pleased with Kickstarter for the whole jumping on the, "Let's try to make a quick cash grab by shouting BLOCKCHAIN! and seeing how much money we can get thrown at us before people realize we haven't given a single hard detail for it would help us do that can't be done more easily without it."
On the other hand as someone who has volume one of the Oban Star Racers DVD sets and really would rather not pay several times the original MSRP for a used copy after not realizing just how quickly it would go out of print after discovering it had a DVD release (seriously, did they produce almost no copies of volume two? You can still pick up volume one at Right Stuf for $15, volume two isn't even listed there and elsewhere I see it for $80+ for already opened and played used copies); it turns out that there is a 15th Anniversary Blu-Ray set in the works, which with 29 days left to go is already at $209k of a $34k goal.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sav...say-bluray. €25 gets a soundtrack and digital art, €55 gets a standard edition blu-ray, digital OST, and digital art pack. The €90 tier includes pdfs of scripts for a couple episodes, and somebody who doesn't have to worry about budgeting burned €6,000 on a single-backer-only tier that includes lunch in Paris with the show's creator at a 3 Michelin Star restaurant (travel and accommodations not included, so yes, this tier like Oracle databases on high end hardware is, "If you had to look at the price you couldn't afford it anyway.").
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer.

Y'know that Hardspace: Shipbreaker game they talk about on the Eyrie Pro forums? Ever wonder what it'd be like as a table-talk RPG?
Yeah, me neither, until I found out somebody'd gone and made the thing. They call it Orbiters Local 519*
