Average rent is now 2000 a month, or 24 000 a year, against 50 000 a year in average income. In 1990 the average household would pay 20% of its income as rent. The modern household pays 48%.

Yeah, I was going to say the same -- too perfect, too detailed.

Cropped from an image shopped in 2013 from a desktop wallpaper that existed at least as far back as 2008, according to Tineye. None of the earlier sites still exist.

yeah I figured it was photoshopped (a cloud resembling a lion? Sure. One with that much detail? About the same odds of winning the lotto jackpot without buying a ticket )
I just thought it fit with the rest of those pics
The horse and rider is great public art, we need more of it. Also: shitty jpg from both telescopes. try webbcompare.com (sorry this doesn't work great on mobile)

There was a notice that it was a facsimile at the bottom, where you could cut it off the bill. They were 1-3% of the Confederate money supply. At first the Union worried that the Confederates would use the same tactic against them, so they didn't want him to print money. Eventually the Secretary of War intervened on Upham's behalf and got the case against him dismissed.

I believe the sculpture is supposed to be a mule rather than a horse, and acts as a handrail up the center of the stairs.
As for the astronomy image, it's more about how much more detailed the Webb picture is compared to the Hubble.
Go ahead and spend ten billion dollars per security camera; you'll probably be able to read the name tags on a perp's underoos from the reflection on a mirror on the moon...

Very true. You get what you pay for. NASA paid for the best they could build, most companies spend as little as possible (sometimes including installing fake or non-functioning cameras as a bluff) There was 1 D&D game I took part in, each player had 2 characters (there were only 4 of us including the GM), Mine were a half-orc and a half-elf, who'd been raised by their retired Bard father and 2 mothers (07-19-2022, 10:18 AM)Norgarth Wrote: This is intentional. Both to increase recording time, and obviate the effectiveness of the camera. The objective, in most installations where the camera is not directly facing valuable product, and is there for the 'protection' of the shoppers rather than the property, it's guaranteed to the shit. Otherwise when something goes wrong the rentacops would be forced to testify with the video in court which would cause trouble for the local scumbags, which means they're more likely to cause serious trouble for the property owners. The cameras protecting the owners are always razor sharp. But the scum know not to get caught by them. They get away with it because they don't threaten what actually matters. I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed. One day they're going to ban them. |
