Some of our Founding Fathers called the country États Unis too. It maybe makes more sense to call nations by their native name than countries (which may not be nations). But I can tell the person who wrote this is a dipshit American because those are the only people who cares about fighting other people's culture wars. He doesn't even know the difference between Nihon and Nippon. But 日本人 also use "Japan". And I watched an anime called "Zipang". Gosh, we have lots of examples of this. The name "Navajo" means something like "field adjoining an arroyo" in a Puebloan language, but they call themselves "Diné"... and also Navajo. The word "Germania" is thousands of years older than "Deutchland" -- "Diet" just meant people in a general sense for a long time in German, before it mutated to "Deutch". But rest assured that even if you try to pronounce a name of a people in their native language, you will not get the accent right anyway, and your language might even lack the phonemes. English is missing the moraic timing to get "Nihon" completely right.

It gets passed around at regular intervals.
Meanwhile, regarding the "sword in the stone" image: The sword in the stone found in the Montesiepi Chapel of Chiusdino, Italy is not the Sword in the Stone that is part of Arthurian myth. It is a sword in stone with its own story, specifically that of 12th-century Catholic saint Galgano Guidotti. Some scholars believe its existence influenced Arthurian storytellers, but it itself has nothing to do with Arthur. It is a picture of the right sword, though, they got that much correct. Trust me, I know my Arthurian stuff. Enough to still get paid for it.

I like them because they do real chunks of sausage meat on their sausage pies and they understand what a man really wants when he orders extra cheese. (Hint: If the entire top of the pie doesn't slide to one side of the box during transport, it's not enough cheese.) But the absolute best thing about them is that as far as they're concerned, the only difference between a medium pie and a large pie is the number of slices it's cut into. I am absolutely serious. There is absolutely no difference in size between their large and medium pies -- they both completely fill a large pie box. And sometimes the mediums are cut such that it's clear the guy only remembered it was supposed to be a medium pie after the third cut, so he stopped right there with four regular-sized slices and two gargantuan slices. We order a lot of medium pies.
