That one with the router had people on Twitter (or maybe Tumblr) replying along the lines of "Those parents had better hope the router will pay for a good nursing home, because the eldest teenager probably won't."

Just four baby elephants? It's a shame that they were snuffed out before finding a baby turtle to ride on. All that lost potential for stories...

<sigh> As usual, never trust a meme pic. NASA never said that. The Jerusalem Post did, apparently to translate NASA's arcane and unfamiliar metric units into terms their readers could grasp:

The Jerusalem Post Wrote:According to experts from NASA's Johnson Space Center, the meteor in question was just over 60 centimeters in diameter and weighed half a ton (or around 454 kilograms).
To put that in context, a baby elephant could weigh as much as 113 kilograms, according to experts from the Denver Zoo. This means that despite its diameter only being around the length of average Pembroke Welsh Corgi, the meteor still weighed as much as four baby elephants.

Still, even with correct attribution it makes for a good entry on All The Tropes' "Hiroshima as a Unit of Measure" page.

honestly, when I see 'measurements' like that I assume that it's made up. The fact that a newspaper actually said that is even funnier. Big Grin

Sheridan: Well, as far as answers go: short, to the point, utterly useless, and totally consistent with what I've come to expect from a Vorlon.
Kosh: Good.
Sheridan: You know, I just had a thought. You've been back and forth to your world so many times since you got here. How do I know you're the same Vorlon? Inside that encounter suit you could be anyone.
Kosh: I have always been here.
Sheridan: Oh, yeah? You said that about me too.
Kosh: Yes. (starts to walk away)
Sheridan: I really hate it when you do that.
Kosh: (turns around just long enough to say) Good.

What being mean costs is goodwill and bringing the general mood down; even people who stomp on others with a vicious glee are seldom happy overall, let alone everyone around them whether direct targets or not. Being mean racks up social debts while kindness at worst gets nothing, but more often pays dividends Cool in kind later on.

It's cute and all, but those are not rules-legal tires.

Also, not sure, but that electrician's ring might have saved his finger from getting cooked, if there was a powerful enough short to melt the contact points like that...

RE: Image Thread 26
The short is only powerful because of the low resistance of the ring let a shitton of current flow. Whether he would've gotten the shock or not depends on the voltage. Still a fair oul burn

If that was across a bar cattery he might not have noticed it.

I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.

One day they're going to ban them.

If Jaws was filmed in Canada, the scene would pan to the left where a black fin splits the water, before suddenly an orca surges up to nom the moose Tongue

And the baby sea turtle goes wild! YAAAY! Big Grin
