AN old video from back when Trump was campaigning for President the first time.

From 2017, but more likely about the populist shit-stirrers that were sweeping the EU at the time than Cheeto Bandito. Even so, the shoe fits, the more so with some of the pussy-grabber in chief's recent comments.
non-embedded edit: the other "king for a day" song because it kept bugging me

China Observer makes the case for China's economic crash being intentional
non-embedded TLDW: by the second or third generation industrialization and the increased education and personal wealth that fuel and result from it leads to a population with time to think about how their leaders don't seem to have anyone's best interests except their own in mind, so CCP leadership has spent the last decade stoking nationalistic xenophobia and/or contempt, strip mining the financial system, and getting people to accept ever harsher social controls, and is now letting the house of cards collapse so the party can keep its power free of worries about being displaced and everyone else is knocked back to subsistence level poverty. That it is plausible is perhaps the most damning thing anyone has ever said about the CCP.

Rainbow Connection (Trump parody song)
When you order your Fuhrer from Temu, and get a Ceannaire instead.
Summary: I made a man deputy leader of the party because I thought he was an idiot - and a malleable idiot - and he kicked me out of the party and ran off with the party coffers. I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed. One day they're going to ban them.

... and from humor, we go to RL horror. Because fucking idiot Trumpista MAGAts, man. Though it does follow directly on from the song above.
And someone had the gall to call me a commie for leaving comments cheering on the prosecution in the election interference trial...

Let me preface this by saying I'm a rock and metal fan; it takes one serious fucking banger of a rap to get me to listen more than once. This, though, is going on my regular-rotation playlist.

A thought I had while waking up today: Is a convicted felon even allowed to be in the same room as the President of the United States? As Congresscritters?

Ain't no law saying he can't. AFAIK. Heck, there ain't no law saying a jailed felon can't serve as President.

But I believe he can no longer vote for himself in Florida. 8P
I guess he won't have to Zoom call those denates after all, then There's plenty of laws saying a felon can't travel, though. I believe both to leave the USA in general and against entering numerous other countries, including Canada and I'd guess many EU members.

I dunno... I mean, if there's anyone who's proven they shouldn't be allowed to have a voice in government, it's Donald Trump. Granted he's an extreme case, but I kind of don't want people who've made life choices bad enough to wind up convicted of most kinds of major crimes voting either.

It's that whole "taxation without representation" thing that was such a bother a couple of centuries ago... and that Canada learned from and put into our constitution.
But we aren't talking about videos any more...

Yes, I was just coming in to say "Guys, video thread. Take it elsewhere."
So... Guys, video thread. Take it elsewhere.

A Roy Orbison parody about Alex Jones, the rightie who (among other things) claimed the Sandy Hook shooting was faked ... by the lefties ... for reasons I guess? Honeslty I can't stand listening to his rants long enough to figure out WTF he'[s on about, but he got hit with some major fines for his callous and cruel statements, so good enough for me, even from the 2nd Amendment supporter side of the fence, because accountability is critical to being a responsible gun owner.

This one's only barely political enough to get sent to the containment zone rather than the general thread, but better to be safe, no?
link The "argumentum ad hominem" speech seems to be a recording from at least forty years ago (I remember it or something very similar from the Dr. Demento Show no later than the early nineties) but feels more relevant than ever in the current day...
