Does this get better?  I started Chapter 1 and it's like they are speed running all the ways a 2020's era person would try to fix Harry Potter, which yeah is sort of the point but not halfway through chapter 1.

I'm not sure what to tell you. I've been enjoying it, and it spins off into quite unusual territory for an isekai/SI story -- Gin makes it clear to at least some of the Weasleys that she isn't the Ginny they knew before, in a very literal way that I don't recall ever seeing in a similar stories, and after a while it turns into something more character-driven rather than fix-ficcing. A lot of the stuff at the start is there mainly to provide a foundation for later explorations made by Gin into herself and her relationships with both family and friends, along with a whole lot of "because of a nail" changes. Although she does remain a subtle and mostly secret resource for the fight against Voldemort, as well.

Edit: Oh! And the most innovative and fun version of the Weasleys' infamous Aunt Muriel I've ever seen in a fic.

I read all of it when it was first mentioned and didn't regrey yhe time spent, but also didn't get so interestd to have gone hack immediately for each new chapter. I have the impression that it dumps its virtue signalling early and then gets on with telling a good story, but don't put too much weight on that.

The very first steps were cloying and slow. It felt like walking face first into a pool of mud. The darkness of the stairwell did not just cling, it dragged and it pulled and it suffocated, threatening to choke and flood her lungs. It was cold in a way that transcended anything physical, a want so dense it had congealed into something near solid.

But it was not directed at them. It was not a hunger for light and warmth, seeking to devour the spark of their lives. It was a yearning for something much further away than that, and so, although it was difficult, Ling Qi was able to put one foot in front of the other and advance. She could feel Hanyi doing the same, her shoulders hunched, and through her, she could get a sense of Bao Qian's qi.

His art was of gold. Gold was something near worthless to cultivators, save for its neutrality and inability to hold qi. Neither the cloying cold nor the sobbing underlying it could reach him, she thought. He was closed off to it, inviolate and numb under the mantle of his art. It was not a technique she would have expected from someone so gregarious.

But then, he was almost always smiling a professional’s smile rather than his own.

I hope the words and actions match up in this chapter. Barry not telling Young Justice is not a plot convenience. I truly don't think Barry would have told them. Time and time again, Barry Allen has proven that he is not above keeping secrets if he believes that it's the best for everyone. Barry still sees the Team as children because they are Wally's friends, and Wally's technically still a kid in his mind (since he vanished four years ago). Jay is going to agree because he's got that big sense of duty thing going on. He knows about the Choas Lord just like Barry does, and the phantom zone and the speedforce are two different things. It's one thing for a Speedster to get mixed up with the speedforce, but the last thing they want is non-speedsters getting mixed up in it because there's a very good chance they won't make it. So they are keeping secrets with the best intentions, but we'll see how long it lasts.
In the comics speedsters get stuck in the SpeedForce a lot, so it's no big deal, but they don't understand that yet. They also don't know about the multiverse yet, so they have no way of knowing what the speedforce connects them with. That's why they know so little about what happened to Wally.
