Quote:robkelk: The hell? USSMC FM 7-22: Space Boarding Operations? Is that what you meant to link us to?
Yep. Quote:(I can't think of the Fenspace version being any different, really. Hell, the Sammies would probably have directly lifted that one directly as one of their manuals.)
The background would have to be changed somewhat...

... I've always wanted to do something like that, only with two engines, a bit smaller, and a reduction gear to drive the rear wheel. ^_^;

I was thinking of mounting one on an Ultra Light Aircraft.
Then I realized that that would Void Legal Safety specifications to keep the rating.
by the way a pulse jet has no Turbine so There's nothing to reduce, spin wise.
A Pulse Jet is the engine that was use to power the German V-1 Flying Bomb (the ancestor to the modern cruise missile).

Well, of course I meant a turbine. The idea that it was a pulse jet was kinda arbitrary in my mindset - jet propulsion is jet propulsion, because, "No
matter how thin you slice it, it's still bologna."
Anyhow, I call my own sanity into question there simply because a setup like the one I had in mind would probably go a helluva lot faster than that guy did.
I'm thinking 150+ MPH.

Part of an album I recently purchased. I recommend the whole album, actually.

Agreed -- either or both of those songs.
MP3s of both of those songs are available, by the way, -- along with many others including "Hope Eyrie", which I laced through my story "Tell Your Children When" -- for free download at the http://www.prometheus-music.com/eli/virtual.html]Virtual Filksing over at Prometheus Music.

Here's something a bit different: the UN Office of Public Information hosting a Battlestar Galactica retrospective. There's a link to the full webcast (curse you realmedia!) at the bottom of the article.

*Snerts* Sheesh. Someone remind me why the hell solar cells are still expensive as all get out these days?
ETA: That'll be a sight at 36 Atalante when Ben helps rig the auxiliary power systems.

Trivia: "Fire in the Sky" was written by none other than Doctor Jordin Kare, who showed his fennish credentials earlier by appearing (as himself) in David Weber's
War of Honor.

Any self-respecting Fen scientist (Mad or otherwise) will have things like http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7979113.stm]THIS. Because who wants to do the grunt work? There's SCIENCE! to be done!

Heh. If the Roughriders had something like that, Ruri would be playing with it all the time. Not that anyone would complain, since they all love to see a happy
Ruri.
