And it might be shining lasers
It was just a one-shot signal, and as usual... hasn't been confirmed. But think, how many of the signals that we've specifically beamed out into space have just gone out in one direction... once. If there is a second confirming laser signal.

Wow - some of those cost less than a high-end automobile.

And by their shapes and sizes, I can picture them being located all over Mos Eisley. They certainly look like Tatooine buildings...

Does the paper suggest evidence that the Tharsis Rise is an Etna-like shield volcano, as opposed to a tectonically-raised area of high volcanic activity? I'm sure there are ways to tell, but the NG article doesn't suggest any.

I had a hunch, which proved correct: the FenWiki has an InterWiki Map, allowing a link to a Wikipedia article to take the form [[Wikipedia:Target article]. It's probably a copy of (an old version of) http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Interwiki_map]the Wikimedia InterWiki Map .

Y'know, I really hate that feature - it makes external links look like internal links. (Click on one, and you have to use the Back button to go back to the wiki you actually wanted to read...)

Alright. I can tell internal and InterWiki links apart by colour, but I've been told that I have an unusually keen colour sense. I've just changed the only InterWiki link I added back to an ordinary external link and will refrain from adding them in future.

ETA:  Money generated by this goes to support http://seds.org]Students for the Exploration and Development of Space .  That's a name I haven't heard in many years -- some friends of mine in college were among the group's earliest members (and helped organize the 1989 SEDS International Conference).
ETA2:  SEDS sure as hell ought to have representatives in Fenspace, at least fringe ones.  I'm not sure if they'd be a resolutely "hard-tech only" group or not...
