And it might be shining lasers
It was just a one-shot signal, and as usual... hasn't been confirmed. But think, how many of the signals that we've specifically beamed out into space have just gone out in one direction... once. If there is a second confirming laser signal.

This image is too good not to put on the FenWiki, but nobody's written up the ship it's about. The image says it's called "Copernicus"...

Wow - some of those cost less than a high-end automobile.
And by their shapes and sizes, I can picture them being located all over Mos Eisley. They certainly look like Tatooine buildings...

And I said in-story that the folks at Mos Eisley weren't interested in receiving any of that surplus Irish housing. I suppose they already had some of these popping up like mushrooms...

Does the paper suggest evidence that the Tharsis Rise is an Etna-like shield volcano, as opposed to a tectonically-raised area of high volcanic activity? I'm sure there are ways to tell, but the NG article doesn't suggest any.

I had a hunch, which proved correct: the FenWiki has an InterWiki Map, allowing a link to a Wikipedia article to take the form [[Wikipedia:Target article]. It's probably a copy of (an old version of) http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Interwiki_map]the Wikimedia InterWiki Map.

Y'know, I really hate that feature - it makes external links look like internal links. (Click on one, and you have to use the Back button to go back to the wiki you actually wanted to read...)

Alright. I can tell internal and InterWiki links apart by colour, but I've been told that I have an unusually keen colour sense. I've just changed the only InterWiki link I added back to an ordinary external link and will refrain from adding them in future.

...and I whack Foxboy with the thank you stick for sending me into that artist's gallery for the last half hour. That's some amazing work... and not just the Senshi in a pseudo-"modern Disney" style (which, as he notes, works very well and provides a mountain of inspiration for the Fenspace Senshi).

And it certainly beats some of the other costume redesigns floating around Deviantart, that have a tendency to follow Rule 34 more than anything.

It being that time of year, here's an Xmas card A.C. will NOT be posting (Greenpeace maybe, if she's feeling mischievous enough... And A.C. can't stop her).
I have to hang a NSFW on this, merely because of the URL. Heck, I've got it noted as 'The Not Family friendly x-mas outfit':

Remember the lady who claimed ownership of the sun a few months back? Well, someone set their sights higher and http://blogs.nationalgeographic.com/blo ... -ebay.html]now has her beat. Doubly so, because they apparently have a sense of humor about this, unlike their predecessor.
ETA: Money generated by this goes to support http://seds.org]Students for the Exploration and Development of Space. That's a name I haven't heard in many years -- some friends of mine in college were among the group's earliest members (and helped organize the 1989 SEDS International Conference).
ETA2: SEDS sure as hell ought to have representatives in Fenspace, at least fringe ones. I'm not sure if they'd be a resolutely "hard-tech only" group or not...
