In the last four days I've watched the Registered users count go from 37 to 38 and then drop to 35 today. Of course, I can see no visible difference in the actual list of users...

Don't worry about going mad. You've got nothing to worry about.
I just got in from work and my computer is insisting that one of my hard-drives doesn't exist. I wonder if I can plead temporary insanity when I beat the guy who installed it to death with my tower. D for Drakensis You're only young once, but immaturity is forever.
I was getting that for a while on my system, independent of my other drive problem six weeks ago. Every once in a while the drive just wouldn't spin up at power-on. Eventually I changed which connector I was using on the power feed going to that drive, and I haven't seen the problem since.
