Positron's Task Force -- Friday

		03-06-2008, 01:23 AM

Task Force Friday is on. First up, Positron. (March 7)

Badb will be waiting in Steel Canyon at 6pm Pacific. (Yes, that's earlier than I originally planned. Not sure this will be the 'usual time' or
not.)

We will not finish the TF in one night. We're going to get through the hard missions at the beginning and much of the boring stuff in the middle
as we have time for--honestly, I can solo the stupid errands during the week if needed. We'll tackle the harder missions at the end a week from Friday.
(March 14)

I'm gonna have to miss this one - I have a rather nasty family problem I have to deal with. If I'm absolutely required, have Vyperpunk give me a call
and she can log me on.

I don't think I'm gonna be, but I'm available as a last resortWire Geek - Burning the weak and trampling the dead since 1979

Sorry to hear it, Wiregeek, maybe you can make Synapse's TF in a couple of weeks? (That one is actually fun.)

I have one (possibly two, but probably one) person from the Phoenix SG who will be joining us, as well.

Virtue? I have a LOT of different toons that can participate....

Wide Receiver - INV/SS tank
Emi Arizona - Rad/Rad defender
Minerva Heisman - Peacebringer

They all cap on Posi and Synapse
If I can get a decent team during the day, I can get Mighty Casey [Will/Mace tanker] into range of the low end of the TF.

As an aside, Emi has the Hollows Trial waiting in her queue... I think.

I could bring Amber on this one since she's not done it yet. Although I might note that Braende, my blaster has stealth and recall friend so it might make
for less headache in missions. Also Vhaz burn quite nicely.

I can probably be there with Alexis. (Though since I fail at time zones, I'm not sure when that is in central time...)

It's likely I'd have to leave for a while in the middle to eat dinner though.

8 pm central. The Posi finale is gonna be pushing the limits for the east coasters.

Hmmm. Okay, I'll probably be done with dinner by then.

Unless that ends up being when I'm eating dinner. '.'

That's why we're breaking it up into two sessions. We will finish a week from today... so bring a toon you don't mind having stuck in TF mode for a
week.

Please be aware that there was a new patch on March 5, so if you haven't run CoX since then, you'll need to allow time to download and install it
before the TF.

The patch changes the way TF/Trial missions spawn; it is now based on the number of characters in the TF, whether logged in or not. However, there's no
longer a minimum size the TF will not scale below, other than the minimum duo required to keep the TF from auto-disbanding.

On another note that may impact tonight: The Rikti Invasion event is live; March 7-13. (And April 25 - May 1, June 13-19, Aug 17-, Sept 26 - Oct 2, Nov 14-20.)

Seeing as how my highest-level alt, anywhere, just barely hit 20... I'm not sure I can get involved.
But!

If Task Force Friday is happening again this Friday 3/14, and *if* I can be sidekicked, I'd love to tag along on quite literally anything.

(If I can't be SK'd I guess I'll have to go level grind. Oh darn. ![[Image: smile.gif]](http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif) )

The Posi TF is resuming, this friday, so I do not belive you will be able to join in, sorry, Sofaspud.

On a related note, I am currently unaware of any events happening on my end, friday, so it may be that I might be unable to attend. I will make every effort to
make sure I am available on Friday at 8. I shall let you know more as the week pushes on and plans become clearer here.

Perhaps we should reschedule this for another night then?

Southern Shootist is also likely to be unavailable Friday due to RL.

Given our current rate of progress, we may not finish this on Friday even with the full team. (The final 4 missions are defeat all.) So we could stealth the
middle section on Friday and then finish the final missions the following week. I do not have a problem with people being gone for the middle stretch and
rejoining us for the end. However, if we lose too many people we won't be able to make progress, and I don't wish this to become an exercise in
frustration.

If I don't think we have enough people to continue Positron's TF, we will postpone it until the next Friday or some other time we can all agree on. In
that case, I'll switch characters and we can start something else. If we do have enough people, we'll continue working on it but plan to complete the
next week when (hopefully) everyone can make it. One way or another TF Friday will go on!

Well, I'll be available tonight if we're going to try and get some of the middle done. And as an added bonus, I made some settings changes that seem to
have improved my loading speed quite a bit. Though I'm still likely to have some lag for a little while after zoning in. (And after teleporting. >.>
) Still, I was able to actually function around a pretty large group of people during a Rikti attack yesterday, which suggests I ought to be able to do a lot
better inside missions.

		Progress report

Five of us did manage to get online, and we knocked out the middle of Positron's TF. (We are Task Force Anti-Matter, if you're curious.)

It mostly went pretty fast, except for a a couple of rough rooms in the last (defeat all) mission we did... and the time Badb was halfway across the mob
charging what turned out to be two or three boss-heavy mobs intstead of one as someone wise said 'pull?' *cough* *cough* Sorry about that.

But we have only three missions to go, so next Friday should do it. Now that we've tried it once at 6pm Pacific and once at 8pm... do people have a
preference?

Well, I can feasibly do either on Friday, although starting at 8pm pacific (11 eastern) would lend itself to a late night, or at least later than would 6pm (At
9pm eastern). What say the rest of you? Who else is in EST?

For this friday, I'd be happier if we could start earlier, since I have to be up early the next morning.

And the new settings did seem to help; at least I was a lot less lagged than the last time. (Though if we'd gone any longer, I think I might have needed a
client restart to clear things out. So many zone transitions makes it worse...)

Mind you, I still have no idea what I'm doing on a big team like this. '.' (Well, yeah, I get the "hit things" part, but I'm having a hard
time finding things to hit before they're all gone... )

This week I can start much earlier than normal, and earlier would be better for me as well. (I have an RPG on Saturday, and only so much slack.)

I should probably say that I can't start too early - I'm working that day. But I should be able to get home and log in around 5 CST.
