Cyberman 8's final City of Heroes Costume.
Cyberman 8's final City of Heroes Costume.

What likely is the last costume I will make for C8 in City of Heroes. Something special for the end of the SSA#1 arc. A set of space armor.

I like the head, but for some reason I expect those flimsily little antennas to be broken in all the melee he ends up doing Smile

Heh... The way he dodges? I doubt he'll get more than scuff marks anywhere. Think of it like the head-guns on a VF-1S Valkyrie. Anything that gets close enough to take them out is probably taking out the entire fighter.

Edit: Someone asked me in-game, "Wait - he's an android, why does he need a helmet in space?"

Rule of cool, man. Rule of cool. Big Grin

Though I suppose I -could- rationalize by saying that he has as part of his cooling system an air exchange that uses his mouth and nostrils like a human. I've already Role-played several times in-game about "Shoulder Vents popping" and venting steam as an emergency measure. The backpack and helmet might simply be useful as an addition to his cooling system in space.

Though he probably COULD work without it. It just would make things more difficult and he'd overheat faster.

There - now it's all "science-y".

I now invoke Bellisario's Maxim:  "Don't examine this too closely."  ^_^

Because he's not Batman, so he can't breath in space Tongue

Well - I soloed all the way through SSA WWD. Here's the pics at the end after defeating Rulu-Wade

And just because he really DOESN'T need a helmet and such to breathe - just to help cooling in a fight - here were a few I got without the space armor:

Oh... and then I got a little whimsical.
"How's he going to get home? Hm. What would be the most FUN way to get home? AH! I know!"

A million suns shine down

But I see only one

When I think I'm over you

I find I've just begun

The years move faster than the days

There's no warmth in the light

How I miss those desert skies

Your cool touch in the night

CHORUS:

Benson, Arizona, blew warm wind through your hair

My body flies the galaxy, my heart longs to be there

Benson, Arizona, the same stars in the sky

But they seemed so much kinder when we watched them, you and I

Now the years pull us apart

I'm young and now you're old

But you're still in my heart

And the memory won't grow cold

I dream of times and spaces

I left far behind

Where we spent our last few days

Benson's on my mind

Gah. I can't believe I did that arc months ago and forgot to take screenshots. Because yours are awesome and now I wish I had some awesome of my own.

Kara hasn't done this yet. Want to team up?
And I'm disappointed Bob! Such a wonderful moment for you to comment on the quirky song at the end and you pass it up? For shame!  Don't you recognize it? (Hint - it's inspired by ANOTHER space surfer - and no - he's not coated in silver. Unless you count the bulky space suit. ^_^)

Oh, of course I know it. Haven't seen the movie in years, but the final scene sticks with me.
ETA:  Oh, and sure, I'd be happy to team up.  Sometime this weekend, maybe?
