I find that my reaction to the story is similar to my reaction to The Order of the Phoenix. The main character stews in anger and frustration as he is wrongfully persecuted by society and unable to effectively respond. The fact that I can empathise enough with a fictional character that I have a sympathetic emotional reaction tells me that it is a well written story, even if the emotions that are evoked are unpleasant.

Heh. No, my reaction to OOTP was more similar to jpub's to JBern's. That type of story just pisses me off and I stop reading. There's -always- (imo) ways to respond other than stewing in one's anger/depression and stories that choose to indulge in that disappoint me. It's why I prefer Moon's stories to JKR's -- i.e., Trading in Danger and its sequels to OOTP and its sequels.

The author's first posted bit was labeled Prologue, but Fanfiction.net considers that "1".
The latest update is Chapter 10 by the author's reckoning, but part 11 by FF.net's.
Sweno posted saying Chapter 10 was up, TheTwisted1 said Chapter 11 was up. Depending on how you look at it, they're both right - but it's one update, not two.
