For the guys wanting to start reading the Culture books, I recommend you start with the book "The Player of Games" as that books gives you a rather nice introduction to the culture and their way of doing things.

I'm looking forward to the first time someone tries to strongarm Harry, btw. Given what I've learned about the Culture since finding this story, I expect he's been gengineered into being superhuman, and that's without the gland-drugs...
