Song of the Day, 4/22/08
Song of the Day, 4/22/08
#1
Male voice, spoken:
Kommt zu mir.
Kommt zu mir in mein dunkles reich...
Kommt zu mir in mein dunkles reich...

(Sempiternus raptus est...)

Blutige Rache.
Verrat und Raub.
Asche zu Asche.
Staub zu Staub.

Aus Rheingold geschmiedet,
von Gottern erzwungen.
Vernichtend der Fluch.
Der Ring der Nibelungen.

Kommt zu mir.
Kommt zu mir in mein dunkles reich...
Kommt zu mir in mein dunkles reich...

Seelen verbrannt.
Das Blutmeer versiegt.
Helden sind tot
und grausam das Lied.

Aus Rheingold geschmiedet,
von Gottern erzwungen.
Vernichtend der Fluch.
Der Ring der Nibelungen.

Choir (sung):
Sempitemus raptus est.
Te tenebo in umbras.
Exire imperio nemo potest.
Si sinistra te tango
in me aeterno ardes
et in obscuritas captatus est

Male voice (spoken):
Kommt zu mir.

Sempiternus raptus est.
Te tenebo in umbras.
Exire imperio nemo potest.
Si sinistra te tango
in me aeterno ardes

Choir (sung):
Sempitemus raptus est.
Te tenebo in umbras.
Exire imperio nemo potest.

Male voice (spoken):
et in obscuritas captatus est!

Choir (sung):
Si sinistra te tango
in me aeterno ardes
et in obscuritas captatus est

Sempitemus raptus est.
Te tenebo in umbras.
Exire imperio nemo potest.
Si sinistra te tango
in me aeterno ardes
et in obscuritas captatus est

Male voice (spoken):
Kommt zu mir...
zu mir...
zu mir...

(English translationSmile

Male voice, spoken:
Come to me.
Come to me in my dark kingdom.
Come to me in my dark kingdom.

(Eternity has been raped.)

Bloody revenge.
Treason and robbery.
Ashes to ashes.
Dust to dust.

Forced by the Gods,
it was forged of the Rhine's gold.
The curse is damning.
The ring of the Nibelungs.

Come to me.
Come to me in my dark kingdom.
Come to me in my dark kingdom.

Souls have burned.
My blood runs dry.
The heroes are dead
and the song is cruel.

Forced by the Gods,
it was forged of the Rhine's gold.
The curse is damning.
The ring of the Nibelungs.

Choir (sung):
Eternity has been raped.
I will hold you in the shadows.
No one can leave the empire.
When I touch you from the left
he will be captured in my eternal flame in darkness.

Male voice (spoken):
Come to me.

Eternity has been raped.
I will hold you in the shadows.
No one can leave the empire.
When I touch you from the left

Choir (sung):
Eternity has been raped.
I will hold you in the shadows.
No one can leave the empire.

Male voice (spoken):
he will be captured in my eternal flame in darkness!

Choir (sung):
When I touch you from the left
he will be captured in my eternal flame in darkness.

Eternity has been raped.
I will hold you in the shadows.
No one can leave the empire.
When I touch you from the left
he will be captured in my eternal flame in darkness.

Male voice (spoken):
Come to me...
to me...
to me...

Just to give a little more of the feel of the song, it's very martial, with a military beat, the sound of hundreds of marching feet, and trumpets sounding
a few times.

And just to give you guys some context, finally: The Sailor Moon Step. This is the music in my head whenever I work on
the final chapter, in which Doug, the Senshi, and their army take the fight to the Dark Kingdom.

This song is a *lot* better when it's not 10 minutes long .

It does sound like a good Dark Kingdom theme, but I think that Schwarze Sonne (http://www.youtube.com/wa...7ps&feature=related) makes a better theme for Metallia
alone, if you needed more evil themes.

Just look at the lyrics (translated, of course)!

You shine darker than the night

You are older than the Light

You're invisible to me

Without a face or skin to see

So terrible, and secretly

Eternally, black sun

You penetrate and baste the mind

Show my soul another light

You seduce and desecrate

So damn cold and far away

And yet inside you heat me up

Forever comes the black sun

You appear in all my dreams

Touch my blank heart with your things

The tree of life strives in your ace

As you free me from the pain

To tell the truth, you frighten me

Eternally, black sun

You exceed the speed of light

You're everywhere, and every time

Not the father, nor the mother

Nor the kingdom come of heaven

But without you I'm nothing

Endlessly, my black sun

My black sun

I wasn't really thinking of this as being about either side, but more as BGM/a set piece.

(And I hadn't known about the 10-minute version until I went looking for a YouTube video... bit of a surprise, that.)

And yes, Schwarze Sonne is a good Metallia theme. I hadn't thought of that before, but you are right.

Army, you say? o.O

...At a guess: the Senshi, Tux, Nephrite and maybe more of the Shitennou, all of the Seven with full youma power and human will... Uranus and Neptune? Would
Pluto take enough note of the temporal havoc to show up this early?

Damn I want to see this. >.

That's a strike force, not an army.

There's at least one song in Doug's collection that actually will call forth an army, though. (No, I won't tell you what it is. It is listed in the "Doug's Arsenal" sticky over in The Game Everybody Loves to Play, though.)

Not that one, Rob. I have another one ready for this -- even posted it as a song of the day a year or more back.

And I will say that there's a teaser snippet elsewhere in this forum that ties directly into both that song and "Nibelungen", sort of bridging
the two.
