Kill la Kill
Kill la Kill

I finally caught the first couple episodes of this tonight -- and I just have to ask:  Am I crazy, or do I detect a parody of Revolutionary Girl Utena in with everything else there?  And it's not just me -- Peggy noticed it, too.  We're both like, "well, she's Wakaba, and he's Miki, and he's kinda Touga, and she is a funhouse mirror version of Utena..."

I won't spoil anything for you, Bob, but that won't last for long. You may have the characters about right, but they've all been repackaged and shoved into something more worthy of Gurren Lagan. Which is fitting, seeing as most of the staff worked on Gurren Lagan.

Fasten your seat belt, old chap. It's about to get a little rough. Wink

(PS: Doug would have a fucking scream in this place. In more ways than one. Especially once the True Big Bad is revealed.)

It would have to be after Doug gets his memories of the Sailor Moon step back, just so he can use that ZZ Top song that creates a simulacrum of Tuxedo Mask.

... Dude, no offense, but the sheer WTF-factor of that world would throw Tuxedo Mask completely off his game.

...Although, I could see Doug doing it because A) he needed a distraction and B) he wanted to see what would happen anyhow. Wink

(Let's face it - Doug would have seen all the shit Mamarou put Usagi through before they discovered they were destined lovers... And we all know that Doug's got one HELL of a nasty mean streak.)

I'm thinking less "get Tux-boy" and more "play that ZZ Top song"...

Snrk. Love to see Nudist Beach's reaction to that. "Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man!"
