I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.
One day they're going to ban them.

Sounds like an Irish version of the late Peter Gzowski, who ran a wonderful show called Morningside on CBC in Canada for years from 1976-97. It's a pity that radio in Canada these days isn't as good as that. I miss listening to the man.

RIP John Crosbie, the man who shut down the cod fishery. (Yes, 30,000 people lost their jobs, but there are still cod to be caught off the Grand Banks because of his decision.)

It is indeed. Did he ever run out of stuff from his father's manuscripts? I kinda stopped compulsively buying everything he released some twenty years ago.

Fred Silverman, "legendary" TV programmer who was the only man ever to head creative departments at all three major networks, has passed away, age 82. If you liked anything on ABC, CBS or NBC during the 1960s-1990s, it's likely he had a hand in it. He's probably the only network executive to be the punchline to a Robin Williams routine as well...

.... Holy Schike, Bob. So many memories there. The only one that is disproved is the impression he was involved in either Star Trek:TOS or TNG

And if you don't know who the Gang of Four were, well... here they are in 1981. Guitar solo's about 2:15 in:
