This WAS funny at first glance, but but then I remmebered it's about ten years of hearing Dad yelp now and then because the Teflon pads on his knee re-placements are no longer available and at his age (even ten years ago) opening them up again and putting in completely new ones gas a high risk of not bonding to the bones properly and possibly not at all. If any of you or people you know have or are considering getting joint replacements, I highly suggest talking to your doctor about buying spares of any parts like that and storing them privately. Like, two or even three sets, to long outlast however long you expect to live with their normal service life (20yrs is a good bet, though the one from the 80s has held up better than the one from the 90s in Dad's specific case.)
