Candidates for Kicking
09-28-2006, 05:17 AM
I haven't enforced the 120-day rule in a while, but as has been noted in another thread, we're running up against the 75-member limit. So while I was on tonight, I checked the roster, and I am nominating the following individuals for removal from the group:
Aegis Sanctuary -- 230 days inactive
Silvery Silhouette -- 122 days inactive
(I hate to remove Aegis, as she was the first person I recruited for the revived Legendary and is still technically an officer, but she's been gone the best part of a year now...)
Queuing up for potential removal by the middle of next month:
BU-33CTP -- 109 days inactive
Nanaki -- 102 days inactive
If any of these characters are yours and you don't want them to leave the team, please tell me here and if at all possible log in to them to reset their inactive counters.
Otherwise I'll be removing them right away, or whenever their time comes.
Thanks.

Hate to agree about Aegis. But yeah. Maybe keep her on friends and send her an in-game email. If she ever comes back, she'll see it.

Nanaki's mine, but I've been neglecting her in favour of Yukiyo, Reflected Glory, The First Shadow and The Hunterminator, so you can remove her. I was thinking of rerolling her anyway.
Btw, quick update. The eta was updated Tuesday and, according to it, I should have access to the internet when I come back home today.

Good idea. I'll do that when I come home tonight.
ETA: We should probably get together at some point to figure out a procedure for electing/selecting her replacement as an officer.

Okay, then, thanks. If you ever want her back in the group, let us know. Quote: I should have access to the internet when I come back home today.
Excellent! Here's hoping Skuld is with you (and the techs on your ticket).

I was not aware that, on top of being goddess of the future, Skuld is the goddess of Tech Support.

True. Though I think she is mostly the Goddess of unconventional tech. Certainly, if asked to connect something to the internet, she would not do so the ordinary way.

Nah, he's only been inactive for 22 days. Unless you're really sure you're not going to need him ever again.

Well, last night I kicked Aegis -- with an email as suggested -- and Silvery Silhouette. Nobody else at the moment has been dropped from the Group, and things should stay that way almost all the way to Halloween, unless we explicitly need the room.
I should note in passing that I have discovered that the 120-day limit I imposed and have intermittently enforced is apparently quite generous -- I learned last night of one group with a 15-day inactivity limit. Ack.

Hey Bob,
If you need the space Kick Sen Sen Mew Mew; while I might get back to her eventually, I am spending more time as 'Evil is second to nun, and I am that nun' crime fighter Big Momma S.

There's one Virtue villainside RP SG I was very briefly a member of. I say very briefly, because...what happened was, I joined it at the recommendation of an old friend, was in it for about a few days...then RL intervened, I was out for a week, and...
See, they apparently have a five day inactivity kick. o_o
They were, er, nice enough to in-game email about it. But jeez.

I'm sticking with 120 days. We all have enough alts that getting to everyone even over the course of a couple of weeks is problematic. And 120 days is more than enough to distinguish "gone forever" from "I'm having a bad patch".
And since we don't need massive amounts of prestige to feed the bottomless maw that is raiding, just enough to pay our rent and buy goodies, we don't have to get all fascist about membership duties. Just play, have fun, and help out other group and coalition members when you can. (While in SG mode, of course. )
I will make a list of all the offered characters above. Thank you all for the suggestions. But I won't kick them unless it becomes necessary.

BU-33CTP is mine, and I've not been on CoH for awhile, combo of computer, time & cash flow issues.
Time is eaten up by solving cash flow and computer is dependent on cash flow. However, I've apparently got a free reactivation till Sunday(US) & CoV has just been installed on me laptop, Heimdall.
So, expect a sighting of the telepresence operated Boomer sometime soonish. Provided I'm not off sniping on Justice with Shadow Cyclops.
Addendum:
Gah, I've past the kickage deadline. Oh well, there's something odd 'bout my laptop which caused CoH to crash the video driver & make XP blue screen. Must be due to it having the video ram being combined with system ram. Still it looks damn pretty when it's working. Yet more inscentive for me to fix up me desktop. (besides Halo, Vista & Halo 2)

If you need to remove someone, you can remove He Who Brings Peace because, although I love the character, I hate playing a tank, so he's a placeholder until I can roleplay his death and rebirth as a Peace Bringer.

Sorry, Rod. We had someone who wanted to join last night, and BU's number (33) was up...
Don't worry. Stand in line and we should be able to kick someone else eventually to give you room to come back.

I'm going to have to start up a list of kickable characters now just so I can remember who's next to go... Last night when Foxboy and I were trying to get the new member (another Bert Van Vliet character) into the group, I had to go scrabbling around my desk for the paper on which I'd scrawled the initial kick candidates...
