P.S.I. HQ
Jasmine Briar, also known as Purrfect Mess, fidgeted in her seat, ever now and again casting a quick glance at the clock. Oh man, gonna be late.
She thought, HE-AT had called her and a few other cops into a last minute meeting, something to do with the new girl, London something. All Jasmine could think
of was the fact that she had somewhere to be in a little over a hour.
"Statement: that's is all. Query: any questions?" HE-AT intoned. "Observation: No, then you are free to go."
Jasmine bolted to out the door and headed to the exit, nearly bowling over several detective out. "Sorry!" she quickly shouted over her shoulder
as she reached the teleported.
***
A few minutes later she was looking her self critically in the mirror. Bitting her lip slightly, she pulled her hair up into a lose ponytail and gave
herself a once over. She was dressing in a pair of jeans and PPD shirt, both baggy in case she had to shift sizes, not that's she plan to, but it was
better to be safe than sorry.
Pulling on a jacket and headed to the lounge and sat on the couch while she waited. Her gut was twisting with nerves, she hadn't been on a date in ages.
God I hope I don't act like an idiot. After a while there was a knock as the door, nervously, Jasmine got up and opened it, standing in the door
way with a slight grin was her date, Reeve, standing there in a nice white polo shirt and slacks, she couldn't help but notice how different he looked out
of his Captain Erstraz costume. A little voice in the back of her head also pointed out how buff he was.
"Hey kitty cat, ready to go?" he asked as he flashed a slightly cheesy smile.
"Um, s-s-sure." she stammered out. "Where are we going?"
"I was thinking dinner and then maybe you and me can go bowling. Sound good?"
"Sure… um, never been bowling before though."
Reeve smiled. "Don't worry, I can teach ya. Come on."
She was silent as the headed out to Reeve's car, unsure of what to say, till she saw the car. "Holy…. Is... Is that a Dodge charger?" she
exclaimed.
"Yep." Reeve answered. "69 dodge charger B body, took a bit of looking to find one, but it was worth it." Reeve rested his arms on the
roof. "You like it?" he asked, taping the roof.
Walking around the car, she ran a finger over the hood. "Yeah, my granddad had one of these." A smile spread across her face. "Heck, I learnt to
drive in it."
"Looks like you have his sense of good taste then."
She blushed. "T-thanks."
Reeve climbed in and then lent over to get the passenger side door. "Shall we?"
Grinning again. Jasmine hoped in and smiled as she looked around. "Hey, you even have a cassette player in here." She squealed in delight.
"Sure, never could get the hang of a CD player and didn't want to deface a classic." He grinned back and pressed play on the player, 80's
rock started blaring form the speakers as he started the car and pulled out. "Now I know this place where you can get a great burger and fries."
***
Up-n-away burgers
Reeve watched in mild amazement as Jasmine woofed down her burger, trying to figure out where she put it all. She looked up and noticed his gaze. "um…
sorry, kind of skipped lunch today, nerves." She sheepishly explained.
"Nerves? What's a pretty young thing like you got to be nervous about?" he asked as he took a sip of his shake.
Jasmine blushed. "Well… it's been a while since I've been on a date." she trailed off, looking a little embarrassed.
"I find it hard to believe that. Why, I'm surprised you aren't beating of guys with a stick."
Jasmines blush deepened. "Well, it's more a case of no one wanting to date "The Freak"."
Reeve raised an eye brow questioningly. "The Freak?"
"Yeah… nearly a year ago I was in an accident involving DE mutagens. Took the doctors over a month to fix me… and even then it wasn't a hundred
percent.' She looked down at her plate "… can... can we talk about something else?"
"Sorry, didn't mean to kill the mood." Reeve stood up and offered his hand. "How bout we go straight to bowling?"
Jasmine smiled and took his hand. "Kay, but I'll probably suck at it."
"Nah, you got me as a teacher, you'll be bowling like pro in no time."

Half an hour later
Super bowl.
Jasmine frowned at the ball rolled into the gutter again. "What am I doing wrong?"
Reeve stood up and walked over. "Well, lobbing it as hard as you can down the lane isn't a good start." He replied as he picked up her ball.
"Here, I'll show you how to do it."
Handing Jasmine the ball, he stood behind her and reached around and placed his hands on hers. "First of all, you need to relax your posture a bit,
you're not trying to throw it like a shot-put."
Jasmine listened to his advice, trying to block out the little voice in the back of her head that's was telling her how close he was. Biting down hard
on that little voice, she paid attention to what Reeve's was saying.
"You got it?"
"ummm… yeah I think so."
Reeve stepped back. "Okay, show em what ya got."
Eyeing off the pins, Jasmine sung back and let the ball go, it shoot down the lane and struck the pins dead on, a strike. "I did it!" jasmine
squealed.
"See, told you I'd have you bowling like a pro in no time kitty."
Jasmine stoped her celebrating when she noticed smoke coming from the lanes. "er…. Did I break something?" she asked, slowly backing up.
"Nah, it's Rock and bowl night." Reeve explained.
"What's that mean?'
Reeve pointed to the lanes, after a moment, laser lights started coming on, marking out the gutters while others started flashing patterns around the room.
Jasmine watched them flicker, mildly enthralled while music started to blare from the speakers.
(Billy Idol - Rebel Yell)
"That's what it means kitten." Picking up his ball, he walked up to the lane and let it fly. "Ads more fun and a bit of a challenge to
the game, don't ya think?"
Jasmine nodded, this was turning out to be one hell of a night.

3 hours (and several games) latter.
The Dodge charger pulled up outside jasmine's apartment block, still palying 80's rock. Jasmine smiled. "That was great, I can't remember
when I last had so much fun." She exclaimed breathlessly.
"So, dose that mean I get a second date?" Reeve's asked, a slightly cheese grin on his face.
"Um… if you want to." She mumbled.
"Great, so, same time next week?"
Jasmine paused for a moment, Fridays were normally her and partner Fil's night out, but then Fil also wanted her to get a social life. "Okay."
she replied, then acting on a impulse, she lent over and gave Reeve a quick kiss. "Um… hee hee, see you then."
Reeve grinned again. "Sure thing kitten. Hopefully a bit sooner"
Blushing, Jasmine opened the door and climbed out, heading to the apartment building, she stoped to wave to Reeve as he drove off. She hummed happily to her
self as she made her way upstairs and unlocked her apartment door.
Stepping in the door, Jasmine heard the sound of purring drifting down from Felis's upstairs sleeping area. She was a little disappointed that her
roommate had already gone to bed, as she felt like talking about her date. However, she didn't want to wake her up. Fil was very unhappy if she was woken
out of her sleep for anything less than a homicide. She tiptoed through the living room, through the kitchen, and into her greenhouse. To her surprise, the sun
lights were on. More surprising, Fil was sitting in her living room, in her human form, dressed in a powder blue bathrobe with a pink towel around her head,
reading a copy of "Sluthing Monthly" and sipping coffee from her mug.
As Jasmine entered, Fil looked up from her magazine. "I hope you were quiet," she said. "Snugglekitty is a light sleeper. That's why I
came in here. So....how did it go with 'Cheesy on the Outside'?"
Jasmine flipped from the sun lamps to the normal lights and dropped herself onto the couch. "It was great! He asked me on another one!" she
exclaimed excitedly.
Fil smiled. "Good. I see you didn't bring him home...never do that on the first date, unless you're sure he's the one." She chuckled
as Jazz started to blush, then leaned into Jazz's face. "Soooo...tell me all the details!"
"Well, we had burgers and went bowling... I was kinda bad at it but then he showed me how to do it... and there were laser lights!"
Fil raised an eyebrow. "Laser lights?" she paused, then shrugged. "Oooookay....."
Jasmine continued. "...and smoke machines and 80's rock music!"
Fil nodded, smiling to her self. Less than a month ago, Jasmine had had no life outside of her job. Now here she was practically bouncing with excitement
over her successful date. Fil allowed herself a moment of pride, a combination of sisterly and motherly feeling, as Jazz finished her story. "That's
nice...we'll talk more in the morning. Snugglekitty will get a bit confused if he wakes up and I'm not there. Get some sleep now... see you in the
morning, Jazz." With that, Felis stood, shucked her robe and towel, and shifted to her were form in one fluid motion. She nodded to Jazz and padded off
quietly towards the loft.
After Fil left, Jasmine changed for bed, her mind still on a slight buzz. She had been on a date, and had been asked out on a second one… maybe Fil was
right. maybe she wasn't as plain as she thought?
She smiled slightly as she drifted off. Maybe he doesn't mind that I'm a bit odd.
