Invulnerablity power
Invulnerablity power
#1
I don't know if it's been brought up yet, but 'Stayin Alive' by the 'Bee Gees' would be a good one.
Aside from the rather obvious temporary Invulnerability, he'd also be slightly insane as a side effect.
Sangnoir likely wouldn't use it, but it'd be interesting to see everyone's take on it anyway.
Here's the lyrics:
Stayin' Alive Lyrics
Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man: no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around
since I was born.
And now it's all right. It's OK.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
the New York Times' effect on man.
Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother,
you're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin',
and we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive.
Well now, I get low and I get high,
and if I can't get either, I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes.
I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose.
You know it's all right. It's OK.
I'll live to see another day.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah. Stayin' alive.
Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man: no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm,
I've been kicked around since I was born.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me, yeah.
I'm stayin' alive.

And that's the song. Tell me how you think it'd work?

Hi, Lord Aries, and welcome to the forums!
You know, I'm kicking myself for not ever thinking of this one -- it seems pretty damned obvious now. And I can even see Doug using "I'm Alive" to heal up after a disastrous hit, and following it up with "Staying Alive" to stay that way...
As for insane? I don't see it. But I do see requiring him to dance on the battlefield in order to maintain the invulnerability...

Thanks!

Does this mean it's time for me to suggest that transformation song, Disco Duck, again? (takes cover)

Not if you value your life.

Glad to be here, and glad to help. I heard the song, and wondered why it hadn't been used yet. Then I decided to post it, and here I am.
The insanity would have been because of the laughter in the song. I like the dancing better though. 'Tis, disturbing.

... Hmm, I find myself wondering about Men Without Hat's "Safety Dance" (4:30), as it would fit in even better with the Dance limitation, though, with the way the song goes, would others doing the same dance be safe as well?
I'll admit, it doesn't say what it's safety from, but it could work. Or maybe it'd be one that doesn't affect Doug, but instead affects anyone that starts dancing (except Doug)
Or, so long as they're dancing, they're invulnerable and invisible. Several different ways this could work.
I think it may be too new though. (1982) When did Doug leave Warriors World?
Anyway, here's the lyrics for the thing.
Safety Dance Lyrics

S (s, s, s,).....A (a,a,a).....F(f,f,f)....E(e,e,e).....T(t,t,t)....Y(y,y,y)
Safety (Safety) Dance! (Dance)
Ah we can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're are no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to, A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind,
and we can dance
Ah we can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're are no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to, A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind,
and we can dance
Francais!
Ah we can go when we want to the night is young and so am I
And we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
and surprise 'em with the victory cry
I Say we can act if want to if we don't nobody will
And you can act real rude and totally removed
And i can act like an imbecile
I say we can dance, we can dance everything out control
We can dance, we can dance we're doing it pole to pole
We can dance, we can dance everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance everybody's takin' the chance
Safety dance
Oh well the safety dance
Ah yes the safety dance
S (s, s, s,).....A (a,a,a).....F(f,f,f)....E(e,e,e).....T(t,t,t)....Y(y,y,y)
safety(safety, safety, safety) dance (dance, dance, dance)
We can dance if we want to, we've got all your life and mine
As long as we abuse it, never gonna lose it
Everything'll work out right
I say, we can dance if we want to we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine
I say we can dance, we can dance everything's out control
We can dance, we can dance we're doing it from pole to pole
We can dance, we can dance everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance everybody's takin' the chance
Oh Well the safety dance
ah yes the safety dance
Oh well the safety dance
Oh well the safety dance
Oh yes the safety dance
Oh the safety dance yeah
Oh it's the safety dance
It's the safety dance
Well it's the safety dance
Oh it's the safety dance
Oh it's the safety dance
Oh it's the safety dance
Oh it's the safety dance

The lyrics to Safety Dance seem more like they allow a group teleport pathway effect provided that Doug and his allies dance as they walk.
I can picture the song being used during the proposed Harry Potter step. Death Eaters are closing in and the kids can't apparate so Doug plays Safety Dance and everybody skips and prances their way to safety.

An alternative to the Thunder Road, then. Hmm. Definitely workable.
