So I was checking out something on Crunchyroll, and naturally I got one of those "People who liked __ also liked these" arrays.  One of them was titled Nyanko Days.  Dear Arioch of Darkness, the kawaii is over 9000!  Fortunately, each episode of Nyanko Days is only two minutes long, counting the credits — as a couple of reviewers pointed out, you could binge all twelve eps in the same amount of time as a single episode of most anime.  You'd then die of sugar shock.  Including from the credits, which feature the statement, both spoken and in print, "Nyanko is Love!"

Yuuko is an ordinary schoolgirl too shy to make friends.  Her only comfort is coming home to her three nekomimi — Maa, Rou, and Shii — who're the size of house cats and always referred to only as cats, despite the fact that Rou often reads books, wears a mini school uniform, and gets out a towel to mop up the orange juice Maa spilled.  Also, Shii has been seen drawing pictures (not very skillfully, which made her cry).

Nothing at all deep here, but stress relief as long as you don't object to moe.

California to pull National Guard troops from Mexican border

So, that whole thing about Usagi and Chibi-usa having the same birthday for REASONS got me thinking...  If Takeuchi-sensei really wanted Astrology to figure that much into her characters, then why not do the same here?

If you guys PM me the birthdates of your characters, I can go digging and turn up some fun information.  Most especially how your Eros and Psyche signs get along with a certain someone else's signs.  (Got this wonderful book by someone that rejoices in the pen name of Mystic Medusa.  She brings fun times to astrology.)

To kick things off, I'm gonna do Benjamin and Hotaru.  I haven't done the readings for this pairing just yet, but my oh my, was I ever in for a surprise!

Personal Note:  While one might look at Ben and Hotaru's sun signs alone (Libra and Capricorn) and wonder how the hell these two would get along, it's actually quite the opposite.  Both being cardinal signs, they are given to leadership roles, but in different ways that reduce the friction you might expect in such a situation.  Libra is all about shoring up support for those around him, making sure that everyone has the tools and support they need for success - after all, their success is his success.  Meanwhile Capricorn is all about taking charge and utilizing the system - she is the go getter, the archetypal 'Girl with a short skirt and long jacket'.  The fact that it's an Earth-Air pairing works well, too - opposites attract, after all.

This is basically how a person behaves while in love, vs. their ideal partner.  Obviously, Eros represents a man's loverboy-self and his psyche represents his dream girl, while Psyche is the girl bowled-over in love and her Eros is her fantasy guy.

Okay, so I've been giving it thought what few spare CPU cycles I've had lately....  

Here's what I got in mind so far.

This is a busy little corner in the unincorporated Olmos Park enclave of San Antonio.  If you pan north and east a bit, you'll find a thin, twisty, meandering little road called Contour Drive.  This is no ordinary neighborhood.  Local millionaire businessman Red McComb makes his home here on this street.  Thus, it will be here that we're find the Lowell-Bunnings and Tsukimura households.  It's amazing this isn't a gated community, but despite its affluence, Olmos Park is down to earth like that.

There is also a gun club nearby, but it's nothing to stress over.  It's a trap and skeet shooting range where they use low-power bird shot.

An idea I have is that when they do show up, the building changes so it has a second floor with apartments in the same Art Deco style as the storefront below.  The main apartment will have direct access to the main storefront.  The roof will have the family dojo and garden.

As usual, the rank and file will not notice these changes, as the Metacontinuity, with its malleable causality, will make it seem as if it's always been that way.  The only people that will notice are displacees and Managers.

Basically, this will be one of those things that manages to slip through the Goddess's carefully cast nets.  As for the plot, I'm still trying to hash that out.  Don't worry, it will come at some point in time or another.

The main reason I like this is because not only is it in a wealthy neighborhood that will easily support the Takamachi family's public business venture, the storefront itself is whimsical and trendy.  While the sudden shift to the Art Deco style will undoubtedly throw the Takamachis, they will certainly get used to it as the visual style is inviting and friendly to Americans, loudly declaring "Good food is found here!" Even if it's not exactly what Americans are used to, San Antonians are increasingly metropolitan these days, even among those of the Conservative bent.
