somehow I came up with the idea "What would Doug's Metagift do with The Ultimate Showdown for Ultimate Destiny?"
Obviously, he's not going to create actual simulcrums of all those characters/people (he'd need to channel the power of a node and I'm not sure he'd survive the strain) but filling his area of effect with an illusionary battle would make for a hell of a distraction, especially if he can give one figure (at a time?) a bit of substance for a moment so that it can actually hit a target before reverting back to illusion.

Hmmmmm... Assuming they get hair tints (or wigs), it's possible nobody would notice.
So, Saki visits Blossom from ... er ... hey, why aren't the Steel Angels and their associated humans in the Metacontinuity yet? Can we squeeze ten more displacees into the steampunk residence with the Imperial Flower Troupe/Troop? ... Er ... hey, why aren't the Hanagumi in the Metacontinuity yet?
(EDIT: No, we aren't waiting for Arc 2 for Steampunk. The Counter-Earths are currently listed as being High Fantasy, Post-Apocalypse, Cyberpunk, Shiny-Happy, and Four-Color Metahumans... although the only ones we've mentioned wanting to do something with so far are High Fantasy (Lodoss/Rune Soldier Louie) and Shiny-Happy (Starfleet).)
(Image source)
If we're going to do a Steampunk residence, who ends up in it?
- The Steel Angels and associated people from Steel Angel Kurumi - ten people or more
- The Hanagumi from Sakura Wars - at least eight people, probably more
- Agatha Heterodyne &co. from Girl Genius - minimum... oh, I don't want to set a minimum here.
Who else?
And where would we put them? Maybe some place outside of North America -- take some of the load of representing the rest of the world off Dublin's shoulders.

Mod note: We've pulled some posts out of the pre-retcon "Planning for Arc 3" and "Planning for Arc 4" threads and moved them to the post-retcon threads, before sending the remaining work -- Black Aeronaut's overall plots, which we've been asked to not use -- to his writing subforum.
Just pulling a couple of things from a couple of threads together, to remind myself that we thought this might be a good idea...
First, the image thread:
(06-10-2021, 03:37 PM)robkelk Wrote: Sailor Moon Infinity is a doujin self-published by Naoko Takeuchi in 1997. Like many other doujin, the book contains "guest art". Thumbnails of the entire book can be found in the Wayback Machine - be warned that page 2 is NSFW in North America. Some of the pages have larger copies saved.
As for what we can use...
{snip}
Page 30... There has to be a story behind page 30. Maybe they're AU versions of the characters. Maybe they're taking part in a holodeck novel. Maybe they're jumping from universe to universe and are visiting the United Kingdom of a Sakura Wars timeline. Any ideas on how we could use it?

(06-10-2021, 03:48 PM)robkelk Wrote: Isn't she, though.
Maybe that's our key to using this in TNB. We have no idea what she might end up majoring in, after all - only that she'll end up becoming Queen.
Add this from the fifth Planning for Arc 1 thread:
(09-23-2019, 07:34 PM)Labster Wrote: Well, Skuld can teach Usagi how to make robots, and Urd can teach her how to pick up guys.

Irish Landlords reach new low in Property Crisis
Or as one comment on Reddit put it: "People forget that one tenants sexual degradation is another landlords sexual gratification." For Context - a comment widely seen as out of touch with the level of anger a lot of people are feeling.
+Of course, solving the problem isn't as simple as building more houses. There's nobody to build them. Accomodation costs are now so high, people are all but stopping coming here to work from abroad, or demanding even higher wages to cover the cost. And trades just arent pushed as a viable education path here --- pressure from parents, schools and government is very much centres on the school -> college -> office train with very little thought given to applied work. And what apprenticeship scheme there are are lacking in real educational value --- the instructors leave a fair bit to be desired
It doesn't help that a lot of qualified tradespeople have left for Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the like in the last decade.
Anyway, the Dead Kennedy's sum up a lot of people's feelings.

Quote:My emotion I well can remember
O'er a "promise" that somewhere I'd seen
One night, away back in December
Anno Domini 1918.
Happy tears in my orbs began wellin'
As I read how the England-to-be
Would become a fit messuage to dwell in
For heroes like me.
Refreshed by an access of ardour
I returned to my business in town;
But, as life seemed each day to grow harder,
I despaired of its joy and its crown;
Till, fed up with a "tale" for poor Tommies,
My temper I finally lost,
And pronounced that oracular "promise"
A palpable frost.
But I've tumbled at last to my error;
For, although I am far from content,
I know that this era of terror
Is just what the Government meant;
When through England so bell-like and clear rose
That eager, that passionate vow;
Since none but a race of real heroes
Can live in it now.
