RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - Bob Schroeck - 02-09-2026 So, are we wanting to preserve our edit histories? You click the history link on the page where the item was deleted, and it leads you to a place to see and undelete the item in question. I'm not going to discuss Flow, or any other software that Miraheze is planning on removing. There's no point. Given their past history, I decided to act promptly, which included deleting their spam in order to deprive them of any attention, a stance we have taken before. If you hadn't undeleted the posts, we would only have had your word for that. Tempbanning the user was acceptable. Removing the evidence was not. Did you not start All The Tropes because you didn't like the way that Fast Eddie did things? Yet here you are, doing things the way that Fast Eddie did things -- from all that we can see from the outside. We do make a point of doing that, in order to remain compliant with how somebody read the CC licence we use. Rob, the last time this guy showed up and tried his crap, I did exactly the same thing -- I banned him and blanked his nonsense. No one objected then. RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - robkelk - 02-09-2026 Fine. I'll let it drop. I'd prefer to save full edit histories, but if that's going to be a hassle, option 1 is fine by me. I'll leave a comment to that effect on the page in question. RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - MilkmanConspiracy - 02-14-2026 When reviewing the moderation queue I accidentally marked Asch of Apokolips as a spammer when trying to click something else. I quickly undid it, but wanted to note my error in case it is relevant - not sure if further steps are needed: I was about to apologize directly then realized it might be overbearing. RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - MilkmanConspiracy - 02-14-2026 Is anyone else getting strange database issues when trying to edit or view recent edits? RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - Bob Schroeck - 02-14-2026 I'm getting it, too. I've submitted a ticket about it: T14956 RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - MilkmanConspiracy - 02-14-2026 Recent changes appears to be functioning again, for me at least. RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - Bob Schroeck - 02-15-2026 It is. They fixed it overnight, and I got an email about it timestamped 9:30 or so Eastern time. By the time I saw it, though, they'd closed the ticket as confirmed fixed. RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - robkelk - 02-16-2026 I think we need to keep an eye on User:FNFGamer718 -- they're coming dangerously close to impersonating a mod, IMHO. They're definitely a single-topic poster who's on ATT to slag that "Krypto the runt" poster instead of to actually take part in the wiki. Their actions are attracting other trolls to the wiki. Bob's already caught and banned one of the trolls (maybe sockpuppets of the original troll). I'm banning the others for posting misinformation, just as Bob did. I'm also deleting the talk pages as ot of project scope, so that they don't attract more trolls. RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - Bob Schroeck - 02-16-2026 Sounds good to me, Rob. Sorry I mostly wasn't around to do anything about them this weekend. RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - Bob Schroeck - 02-16-2026 I just noticed... a bunch of stuff seems to have gotten busted over the weekend. The Special Pages link is missing from the Admin Only Tools submenu, you can't open the advanced search options on a search results page any more, and similarly the customization box doesn't load on Recent Changes any more (instead just showing the three-dot "spinner" for as long as you have the page open), nor does it automatically report that new changes are available if you have that option turned on. RE: All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII - robkelk - 02-16-2026 And I just noticed that Trope links aren't green any more. At least, not on my screen. |
