the worst.... the absolute worst is when some kids ball bounces and lands at your feet and they say. "Hey Mister, throw us the ball," You look around.... but there's no-one there but you.
'Mister' is my da. My da's 50-odd.

I picked up a nasty little habit from when I was in the service. It's 'Don't call me Sir, please. I work for a living.'
It stuck.
If they call me 'Sir', I call them 'Whelp'. (Half of them don't even know the word.)
