Suddenly, Black Sabbath's Iron Man is stuck in my head. And that's a good thing.

.... And now everyone knows who they are. Oooooohhhh shit.
I gotta say, my immediate (and furthermore, my later-after-having-had-time-to-mull-it-over) response to that was "So?"
I'm not sure I've ever read an Eva fic where the identities of the pilots wasn't somewhere between "world's worst kept secret" and "public information". -Morgan. Quote:"What wonders the girls shall show him." Heee~eyyyy... *shudder* "No can brain today. Want cheezeburger." He now knows what orifices are for.

Having had access to the internet... that should already have been known?
He never had use for the human body...now The Ree are gonna show him.....intimately..and in detail. I can't decide whether to pity him...or envy him.

Very much so. --- "Oh, silver blade, forged in the depths of the beyond. Heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way. Lay waste."
In regards to their identities... It was a bit of an open secret. "The first rule about Fight Club is that we do not talk about Fight Club." That sorta thing. Plus I'm betting that Section Two did a bang up job keeping the cat in the bag. Besides, nobody likes to be labled as a traitor, and Tokyo-3 is the quintessential 'company town.'
Oh, and just remember - just because others say you're being paranoid doesn't mean that there isn't someone out to get you. There will be consequences. Quote:Sitting next to each other on the hospital bed, her knees up against her chest, his arm wrapped around her shoulders, they wait. She hasn't said anything since the admission. She waits for him to leave, to yell at her, to curse her but he doesn't. His hold on her becomes tighter, if anything. Rereading ND, and I come across this quote from Asuka... And I realized, 'she' isn't Kyoko, but one of the other personas. Well played, Mister Landsman. Well played. =========== =============================================== "V, did you do something foolish?" "Yes, and it was glorious."

...so, to sum up: we have Ikari Gendou and the President of the United States, Stephen Colbert, in a fist fight on international television on Larry King Live...
...and it's entirely reasonable for this to happen. The way this story balances serious with silly-verging-on-slapstick is simply amazing.
This story is going completely off the freakin' rails... and only in the best possible of ways.
And with Gendo around.....it's all according to plan. His moment of detailing out the elaborate way this entire fiasco benefits NERV was awesome.
--- "Oh, silver blade, forged in the depths of the beyond. Heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way. Lay waste."
And regarding the end of the chapter: Asuka dear, there are some things you don't say, not even in the privacy (or lack thereof) of your own head.
-- "Facts? You want Facts? This is Usenet!"
Okay, halfway through chapter 36, I can't help but laugh at the notion of post-Second-Impact "foot shortages".
I think that's the funniest typo I've seen since the Flash hitting things with his nads thousands of times a second. (And that, at least, had the excuse of being legitimately IRC-scale no-time-to-edit.)
You shouldn't laugh. Unauthorized attempts at remedying the post-Second-Impact foot shortages have nearly caused the complete extinction of most species of rabbits.

I was thinking that, in a starvation situation, you don't want to eat your own leg. That'd just be weird.

Chapter 37 is out.
Astonishingly, Kyoko just earned her first Crowning Moment of Awesome since this started. Asuka's MPD is out in the open, but she and Shinji have been talking things over, and seem to be doing pretty well when the Angel of Mountains arrives. Quote:So, when Section 2 arrived and told them they had to get to NERV, --- "Oh, silver blade, forged in the depths of the beyond. Heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way. Lay waste."
Why does this sound familiar?

Well, given the M.E.G.A. System, I thought it might be a reference to either this or this, which are the Model Fs in Megaman ZX and Megaman ZX Advent, respectively. Sorry for not having better pics..
EDIT: Nevermind. Look here for better pics. ----- Stand between the Silver Crystal and the Golden Sea. "Youngsters these days just have no appreciation for the magnificence of the legendary cucumber." --Krityan Elder, Tales of Vesperia. |
