		[RFC][dskswdyhms][music] ... Wow.

Okay, I am completely floored by this band, The Jezabels.  Here, have a listen to this song of theirs called A Little Piece .
Done now?
Great.  Help me figure out which of Zeke's girls that song fits best!  (O_O
And for that matter, have a look at the rest of their music.  I have a feeling it's going to figure into this story pretty heavily.

My thought is Rei, mainly since she's the first girl to get introduced. Seems to me to be a mix of yamoto nadeshiko and tsundere-- i.e. an idealized woman.

Okay, you guys can thank dark seraph for making me want to necro this thread.
That link he posted over in the videos thread on General Chatter was a perfect fit, I think, for Teletha Testarossa... at least as long as she's having a fit of ambivalence.
In case no one saw it, here it is: http://baitstudios.com/di...eboot/SoundShow/NoLight/
The 'video' content is Portal-related, but still.  Whoa.
I'll go over what my brain is doing in regards to the lyrics.
EDIT: Giving this the same HTML tables treatment I gave Rei's song, just because I like completeness for completeness' sake
[table] LyricsNotes | You are the hole in my head
You are the space in my bed

You are the silence in between

What I thought and what I said

 You are the night-time fear

You are the morning when it's clear

When it's over your the start

You're my head, you're my heart
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes

I never knew daylight could be so violent

A revelation in the light of day

You can't choose what stays and what fades away
And I'd do anything to make you stay

 No light, no light

 (No light)

Tell me what you want me to say
And through the crowd I was

 Crying out and

 In your place there were
 A thousand other faces
I was disappearing in plain sight

 Heaven help me

I need to make it right

 You want a revelation
 You want to get right
 But it's a conversation
 I just can't have tonight
 You want a revelation
 Some kind of resolution
 You are the revelation
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes

I never knew daylight could be so violent

A revelation in the light of day

You can't choose what stays and what fades away

And I'd do anything to make you stay

 No light, no light
 (No light)

Tell me what you want me to say
 But would you leave me,

If I told you what I've done

 And would you leave me

If I told you what I've become
 'Cause it's so easy,

To sing it to a crowd

But it's so hard, my love

To say it to you, all alone
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day,
You can choose what stays and what fades away
And I'd do anything to make you stay
 No light, no light
 (No light)
Tell me what you want me to say
 You want a revelation

 You want to get right

 But, it's a conversation

 I just can't have tonight

 You want a revelation

 Some kind of resolution.

 You are the revelation.
 You want a revelation

 You want to get right.

 But, it's a conversation,

 I just can't have tonight.

 You want a revelation

 Some kind of resolution
Tell me what you want me to say

 | This is pretty self explanatory.
/ The light in his eyes that he had as a child is gone.
 | Instead, he burns
like the sun itself. Ironic in that
 | when he's in God-mode his eyes are
 that creepy
 | black-within-black, and also Raven, in some circles,
 | is a
Sun god.  Violent daylight indeed.  The way
 | he is now is a shocking
 revelation to her.  He has
< let her memory fade, but the day his mother
 died is
 | as sharp as ever. Also, mental imagery of Zeke beating

 | down thugs, but not without taking some licks himself.
 He is wielding
tonfa like they're part of his body.
 She really would, at that.

And she's got no idea what to say.

Zeke moves away and Teletha is by herself even
 though she goes to
 school with other children.
But none of them could replace Zeke.

She wants to make right the fact that they were separated,
despite the fact that it was beyond their control.

At this point, I can see this being Teletha's more negative
 emotions speaking to her.

Mental imagery here?  Zeke going to town on the multiple
Cardians summoned during his battle with Lum.

She's truly terrified that Zeke will hate her for some of the
shitty calls she's had to make during her career at MYTHRIL.
Imagery here of the ceremonial role-call she takes
 after the
events post-climax from Season 1 of FMP
 where she calmly accepts that
 the KIA crewmen are
'on patrol'. (Submariner tradition - any submariner

lost at sea is on patrol forever after.)  And then her
 with Zeke at a
bad moment with her sullenly unable
 to say anything to him.

Mental imagery: Zeke in his techno-mage 'Armslave' fighting at
 Sosuke's side against overwhelming odds.

 Again, negative-Teletha

This time, though, it's Zeke confronting her,
where she asks him what he wants her to say.

Should I do the same with Rei and A Little Piece as well?

That's sort of what drew me to it really. I saw it on one of the many tumblers I followed, watched it and next thing I know, I finished writing a Fic I had been stuck on for a few weeks.
And yes, do one for Rei, I love the little trailer/story scenes done with music.

Decided to try messing around with the HTML function... and it works remarkably well!  Especially if you have a decent HTML editor on hand because Yuku turns all the code into a wall of text every time you preveiw.  (Even Notepad in Windows will do for basic stuff.)  The advantage here is that I can do this line-for-line without breaking the flow of the lyrics.
So, here is Rei's song: A Little Piece by The Jezabels.  It's not quite as good because right now I'm still kinda stuck on No Light, No Light by Florence+The Machine.
[table] LyricsNotes | There’s a cold, easy glow Dancing over our street.
I could have chased it down.
 I could’ve held your love,
But wouldn’t you think me weak?
 Of all, I should know
How the streets come and go
When you chase the kaleidoscope dream,
But, Stranger, baby, always keep me
 In your sweet memory.
 Biting cold, thrashing, scolding,
 Drowned me under our street.
Perfect hips, perfects tits she was.
Perfect lips, pieces of your heart,
 Splattered on the cliff.
We go home, watch a movie.
Tell me can you feel the beat?
Getting worse, getting worse she was,
 Letting those feeling loose;
 She was, becoming a monster.
She drew the line in the mind.
 She was not holding on.
Look at me, can you see, I'm in love?
Hold me tight. Babe, we’ve got it.
And did you find that you’d like a little
Piece of cherry pie, hot from the oven?
 From the oven?
And it was "Who let the girl out?"
 (Who let the dog out)
 "Let the girl out?"
Don’t you miss me the way I miss you?
 Sailor, Sailor, Sailor,
I’m sending birds to watch over you.
And when you see Honah Lee is a lie,
Hold me tight. Babe, we’ve got it.
 And all you need, honestly,
A little piece of cherry pie,
 Hot from the oven.
 On your knees, face me,
 Cherry pie, baby.
 On your knees, face me,
 Cherry pie, baby.

 | These two lines here bring to mind Tokyo in the winter time. It sometimes rains instead of snow, thus a cold glow.
Strength of character is of great importance to Rei.
Even if she wants to do something,
sometimes she won't because it would seem out of character for her.
 She's not dumb, of course.
She knows that things come and go.
But it doesn't make it hurt any less that Zeke
has several other girls vying for his attention.
Even so, she wants to be first and foremost in his mind.

 Arguments.  Plain and simple,
as Zeke and Rei repel and attract.
Visions of the other girls, perfect as they seem,
they also break his heart sometimes.
 Precious, quiet moments together.
With everything that goes on around them, part of Rei wants to deny him still.
She fights her hidden nature, lashing out whenever she feels too close.

But finally, it comes to a point where she decides to no longer fight herself

 Pretty self explanatory here.
![[Image: banana-dance.gif]](http://www.accessdenied-rms.net/forums/forumimportfiles//banana-dance.gif) I tend to get the imagery of Rei in Senshi-form,
fighting her way to Zeke with a dancer's grace.

Her love is like a force of nature.

And here I can see her sending out Phobos and Deimos to watch after him
 when he goes away.
She is hoping that he'll see that none of this is going to turn out perfectly.
And when he does come to that realization, she'll be right there waiting for him.

Mental imagery of Rei grabbing Zeke by the lapels just before he walks away,
And kissing him with everything she's got.

I completely forgot about Lum's song.
Actually, I had it in mind, I just never really realized it was her song until now.

That song being The Great Escape by Moby featuring the vocal talents of Azure Ray (so no, you don't have to suffer through hearing Moby sing).
EDIT: Forgot to include links.
Regular version:
Instrumental Version:
For now, here's the lyrics. Later on I'll come up with something for this like I did with Teletha's song.
Quote:I'll use a lock that has no key
 Bind you with chains

That no one else can see

Let the water creep over your face

 I'll send it in waves

Just to watch you perform the great escape

How long can you hold your breath

While you hold mine again and wait

Just to watch you perform the great escape

I'll pull your arms tight behind you back

 Use myself as weight

 And wonder while you fade

How long can you hold your breath

While you hold mine again and wait

Just to watch you perform the great escape

It seems kinda morbid, but there it is.  Lum, as I picture her with her love/hate thing for Zeke, enjoys watching him perform his great escapes from her plots, but at the same time would like it if he just gave up once and stayed at her side.

Yeesh, I'm on a roll now.
Got Miyuki's song, yet another Florence + The Machine song, Shake It Out.
http://youtu.be/WbN0nX61rIs
Figure this fits Miyuki because she really doesn't like partaking in the family business (body guard/ninja), and then along comes Zeke and he inadvertently turns her whole world upside down.  She eventually comes to decide that she's gonna turn her back on it all so that she can be with Zeke, no matter what.
 Quote:Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments

I can see no way, I can see no way

And all of the ghouls come out to play

And every demon wants his pound of flesh

But I like to keep some things to myself

I like to keep my issues strong

It's always darkest before the dawn

And I've been a fool and I've been blind

I can never leave the past behind

I can see no way, I can see no way

I'm always dragging that horse around

Our love is questioned, such a mournful sound

Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground

So I like to keep my issues strong

But it's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back

So shake him off, oh whoa

And I am done with my graceless heart

So tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart

'Cause I like to keep my issues strong

It's always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back

So shake him off, oh whoa

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back

And given half the chance would I take any of it back

It's a fine romance but it's left me so undone

It's always darkest before the dawn

 Oh whoa, oh whoa...

 And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't

So here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my road

And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope

It's a shot in the dark aimed right at my throat

'Cause looking for heaven, found the devil in me

Looking for heaven, found the devil in me

Well what the hell I'm gonna let it happen to me, yeah

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back

So shake him off, oh whoa

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back

So shake him off, oh whoa
