That looks like a good bit to me, but perhaps I don't understand the quetion. Is it that you need a transition scene to fit in between, to contrast spooky-horrific base exploration and finding Haku and semi-tense/serious not-quite-downtime? If so - try a bit of playing or even slapstick, maybe as the kids are training. They are still kids, after all, even iof they are also trained to fight and possibly kill. It doesn't ahve to be anything major, maybe they get into a rock skipping contest, or Naruto turns into a giant squirrel with Henge and throws acorns at Sasuke when thy're tree climbing. Heck, teach them water walking early and have an amourous squid join the Sasuke fan club
