Detective Conan/Persona 4
For those who aren't familiar with Persona 4, it is a supernatural murder mystery. A group of friends, at first just, Souji, Youske, and Chie, but later adding Yukiko, Kanji, Rise, and Naoto try to find a murderer whose MO is to throw people through TV screens into another world, where their repressed thoughts, called their Shadow, confront them and (unless the sucker accepts their shadow, which is unlikely,) eventually kill them if given enough time. They also try to rescue the murder's targets by going into the TV themselves and using the Power of Persona. How does one gain the power of Persona? By accepting their Shadow.
Scared after the kidnapping of Rise, her parents hire Mori Koguro, aka the Sleeping Detective, to find the Inaba killer. Coming along with Mori is Ran, his daughter, and little Conan Edogawa. The media jumps at the opportunity to wring an interview from the detective- and his daughter. Pity the Inaba killer seems to have a thing for choosing targets who recently have media exposure. Ran is kidnapped, and things go nuts. With his daughter in danger, Mori throws aside the mental laziness that normally hinder his detective skills and goes from an observant mediocre detective to a very good one. Conan, aka Shinichi Kudo, goes into investigative overdrive. And Souji, Youske, Chie, and the rest of the Inaba Investigation Team charge through the TV world on a Rescue mission. Luckily, they pull it off...but it isn't long before Naoto Shirogone, a genius teen detective frustrated by her lack of progress on the case, becomes the killers next target.
With this many people secrets and this many people looking for the truth...well, it's going to a heck of a ride.
