Looks pretty solid to me so far.  I actually liked the inner story a lot better than the outer quotebit.  It looks like an excellent start to a solid sci-fi story, and one I'd like to read more of.  The wrapper of "I'm a Marty Stu!  I have an Epic Weapon!  I can Bend Time!  I have too many titles to bother to recount!  Oh, and don't make the same mistakes I did, kids." feels like it detracts, more than anything else.
