Back in the early 80s, when I was in college, all but pre-VCR, various student groups at Princeton would raise money by showing movies on Friday and Saturday nights in various lecture halls. (I wonder if they still do that. Probably not.) Both the Film Society (a club set up to do only that) and the campus SF club (of which I was a member) would do cartoon nights, so I've had the wonderful experience of seeing not just What's Opera, Doc? but many many other classic cartoons on a reasonably big screen.
It is indeed an experience one should not miss if given the opportunity.
