Having just come back from watching the movie I'm pleasantly surprised.

The onion was right. I'm not a trekie, and I enjoyed it. I am lead to understand (from my trekie friends) that this is a MASSIVE reboot of the series.
Changing LOTS of things (some things they didn't have to change). But never the less it was fun.

And hey, they even did the soundlessness of space once or twice (not all the time, but at least it was acknowledged).
