Another possibility I see is corporate usage to increase worker productivity. Are your office drones not working fast enough to meet deadlines? Give them VR headsets and have them work in a virtual office at X4 speed, getting an 8 hour day finished in 2 hours. Do they get paid for 2 hours of work or 8? If this becomes industry standard, does a 160 hour workweek become normal?
If you sleep in VR, does accelerated time mean you need to spend less time sleeping in the real world? Anyone who can afford a headset may want to log onto a custom 'sleep' server (only $4.99/month for the best rest of your life) so they can sleep in luxury for an hour or so before getting back to the daily grind.
