Michael Moorcock was associated with Hawkwind for quite a bit, and in the earlier days had his own band, "Deep Fix", and the "Chronicles of the Black Sword" tour _might_ have had something to do with him!

Mike Moorcock was noted for having started the "New Wave" in SF, in the 1970s (I think), introducing "soft" sciences, like sociology and psychology. I think it can be a bad idea calling something "new"...
