Hmmmmm... It's much more realistic than the usual fan art, but since when was Luna so big? Is she supposed to be a Maine Coon?

That looks like a fairly normal-sized cat to me, but I have the impression that as cats go, Luna is tiny.

Somewhere out there, the big early-'90s magical girl anime was Codename: Sailor V.
Nice hat.
Clockwise from top: Minako Aino, Miyabi Yoronu, Hikaru Sorano, and Mamoru Chino. From various descriptions, it appears that Minako maps to Minako and Usagi, Miyabi maps to Rei, Hikaru maps to Naru, and Mamoru maps to Makoto.
(Images from Tuxedo Unmasked.)
Which of our displacees came from a universe where this was the show they remember? EDIT: Besides the Sailor Senshi, that is.

Fifteen images from the same artist on Danbooru, ten of which are Cardcaptor Sakura characters, and nine of those just went up a couple of days ago. Perfect for slice-of-life stories.
Smaller versions of a few of them - see the download pages for the full-size copies:

Gosh-darn it, Kuroko, you're just going to have to look cute if you want to wear matching outfits with Mikoto.

In case you've forgotten who uses which attack, three decades after the manga was published (and a day after the final movie was released).

The artist likes using this "cartoon" style, even for their serious images. A mirror between end of original series and end of R movie, spoilered:

Summer 2017: Some of the folks at Blossom discover the Lois 'N' Frima's kiosk in the Byward Market.
(Image sources: Pixiv or Danbooru. Alas, Lois 'N' Frima's doesn't have a website, just a Facebook page.)

A while back, I found a compliation volume called Heisei Doujin Monogatari (2019-01-31) on yande.re. Lots of different doujinshi artists in a full color volume, with all of the art being high quality. Of particular interest to us in this set:
- qp:flapper, Sailor Team page 1, page 2
- Inui Sekihiko, Comic Party cast page 1, page 2
- kaishaku: Utena, Anthy, Hikaru Shidou, Sailor Moon, Sailor Jupiter, Mokona page 1, page 2
- Kino Hitoshi: Utena and Anthy page 1
- Aika Grantchester, Hime (not appearing), Kero-chan, Sakura Kinomoto, Son Goku (not appearing) page 1
- Konoe Otosugu, Saber
- shirabi, various Ayanamis (some nude)
- some guys in the background but in the foreground basically an awesome girl harem of Nadia, Faye Valentine, Rei Ayanami, and Yui Hirasawa
And some realistic Nadias:
The last one's text substitutes the mountain character for the ocean character, "Fushigi no Yama no Nadia", which is a good enough title for a fic.
"Kitto daijoubu da yo." - Sakura Kinomoto

Back in the 1990s, there wasn't a lot of standardization of characters' hair colours. Not even in official art drawn by the characters' creator.

Hotaru with a side-parted bob hairdo is devastatingly cute. And Ami's 'do and t-shirt make her look more like a college student than a high-school student... which for us is a good thing. Minako's French-braid twintails, though... maybe she's trying too hard to look like Usagi.

This is a crop from one of my wallpapers, which just came up in the rotation this morning and thus was fresh in my mind when I saw Rob's post above. Usagi, probably several years down the line:

I was just doing some cleanup on my downloads directory, and I came across a few things I'd been meaning to share. If I wait until the next writers' meeting I'll just forget again, so I'm just putting them here for everyone to see.
To start with, not so much a setting-specific image as one that lends itself well to a setting-related set-up:
"Okay, anybody know where Makoto..."
"Never mind."
A couple Evangelion images:
Chise Todo in just a few years...
And finally, one Friday evening at the Hangar in Adelaide:

For Halloween We Are Going as Ourselves.
Our older, evil selves.
No, we don't get age-ups, just the costumes.

I thought about posting this one over on the DW:S forum, for Reasons.
Blue jeans and a leather jacket never looked so good.

In case you thought the Clow Cards weren't cute enough.
First of a set that's being posted as I type this, available at this elegant and finely-crafted link. So far, there's The Flower, The Sleep, The Sweet, The Voice, The Power, The Light and The Dark as one card, The Song, and The Rain.
