RIP Pierre Cardin, age 98.

At a time when other Paris labels were obsessed with flattering the female form, Cardin's designs cast the wearer as a sort of glorified hanger, there to showcase the clothes' sharp shapes and graphic patterns. Destined neither for pragmatists nor for wallflowers, his designs were all about making a big entrance — sometimes very literally.

Dawn Wells, probably best known as Mary Ann Summers on Gilligan's Island, has died.  Age 82, but it was COVID complications that did her in.

RIP Wilma Pelly, age 83, on December 28.

Her career included roles in Children of the Dust, Fargo, and a role written for her in North of 60.

her last film, Don't Say Its Name, is currently in post-production
